O-t, how can you expect a pro to post ALL of his plays?! I mean he's not a tout, he's just posting for free. He and other pros' volume is surely off the charts, they'd be eating into their bottom line in a big way to post post post play after play after play.

Look, I'm a completist myself. It used to tilt the heck out of me that I wasn't getting all of my "followie's" plays. But if you're interesting in winning money, it matters not if you're getting one or twenty - the +EV stuff adds up and I will take every single crumb that BG wants to throw me.

Jalp, Just curious, but how do you know he's a pro? have you followed him in the past at other boards?

Yes I have followed him for awhile at another forum. Ed posted his record just from baseball last year. It doesn't include his other sports that he also did very well posting.

I don't have access to his bottom line or his occupation status, I can only assume from reading his posts that his occupation is sports wagering and the like. Don't think I'm going out on a limb there.

    Very interesting thread

So does the board recommend his site like Scott and Steve?

People really giving up on a guy after two weeks? When he hasn't even done poorly? To each his own I guess.

If I'm the moderator you cited, I've already posted that I knew absolutely nothing about BG before he began posting here (to the shock of at least one poster who follows and respects him).

Not sure what you're really asking. From what I've gathered, BG has posted elsewhere in the past, done well, and is respected by several BT posters. I'm not sure who "The Board" is other than Edward since he's the sole owner. So if you're asking for Ed's opinion, he'll have to respond personally.

I don't want this to come off as negative because I don't know this man I don't want to past judgement on him. A poster that seems to understand the market maybe I can learn something.
He won 35 units last year It's nice but I won 22 the year before and 7 last year after an horrendous April. (A little applause please JK) This should have been in Bold guys I'm putting out some plays but I have Clients and it wouldn't be fair to give the same plays as I give them.

Somebody here said give him a chance that's not the point. I believe in the end he will be plus how much I don't know that I only know that I read what he saids look at his plays and move on. But what it looks like is Guys I'm losing but there not my top plays. That's what I'm getting from this thread. I'm sure he's good and most likely a very nice guy.
You know of course the best feeling in gambling is "Getting Out" Sick people lol

BG I wish you nothing but success because if you succeed there's guys here that will also.
So Good Luck and I know this stuff is like water off a ducks ass it's gambling.

Here's my thinking OT. I don't know BG, but I do know Jalapanose, and in all the time I've known him, I've never seen him this enthused over getting someone's plays, so basically Kane trusts Jalapanose + Jalapanose trusts BG = Kane trusts BG.

I wish you luck I just can't lay those numbers not saying I'm right and I never doubted the guy because I don't know who he is so I wish him good luck would love to cherry pick but that's a no win and I enjoy keeping records and doing my own thing i havent done that bad over the years. thats why I never put a Stevie Y play on my plays because it my its his its not my play but i do follow him so good luck. Doing this from my phone hate the little screen

Let me also point out how hard much harder it is to provide winners for a following, than it is to win as an individual.

One aspect that few realize is the psychological responsibility of knowing that others will be following you. For some the pressure and desire to win has the emotional impact of betting an extra unit or more on the play, so you aren't just going to throw out every single thing that you took a position on during the day. It would be impractical for multiple reasons.

As an individual, you can bet openers, bet overnights, chase steam, shop for non-WA numbers, play derivatives, parlay, buy points, get reduced juice, react quickly to weather, injuries, lineup changes, or a move that you think or know is a fake. All things that are difficult to impossible when providing picks to a following.

So yes, it is illogical to think that BG or anyone else is posting every single thing that they bet.

With that said, he obviously cares about winning, has shown the ability to win in the past, and already stated that he wouldn't post anything he didn't think was +EV. That should be good enough.

This is sooo true. I've also known bookmakers that would use similar psychological methods to get into the head of hot handicappers. Example of BM to player, "Nice handicapping Mr X, our office is following you." BTW, he was a stone cold bookmaker.

if you are willing to do some research, you can find his record for two sports: NFL, and Baseball last year....appox...60%.......he's the" real deal,"...( I've been following for a number of years now.......".he knows his stuff"

I'd like to echo Rip's post in stating that BG is the real deal. Since I'm new here and don't know the rules, I won't post a link to his past seasons. He posts the lines that he gets and is on the up and up.

Welcome aboard! You can find the posting rules here: http://www.bettingtalk.com/postingrules.php

We generally don't allow links to other forums or personal websites. FWIW, Ed (the owner of BT and RAS) has already posted BG's MLB record from last season in this thread.

StevieY generally uses widely available lines most times.

BG seems to time the market and pick off his plays when the lines peak at Pinnacle or 5D but aren't available elsewhere. Nothing wrong with that since it follows the guidelines for recordkeeping but it's way harder to follow and get his numbers than StevieY.

What I don't understand is how BG is allowed to post Texas -173 yesterday?

I was going to post what OT did but got a phone call. I show the same history.

grenade, the rules apply to everyone, and everyone is also bound to miss a line move once in a while, so perhaps you could politely point out when you think a line was not available next time rather than make a conspiracy theory type accusation.

    Thanks.

He does time the Market very well and has explained in other posts instead of worrying about CLV you should try timing the market which would be more effective. Now will that said he does it very well and in short that's the price you pay for following people that happen to have a talent in timing or seeing something in a game quicker then the Avg bear getting the price most times is hard. May I suggest more outs. That's pretty much a decision each has to make on his own and it depends on how much worst of a number you willing to take by following and you feel you'll be successful.
