This isn't the stock market, but it's one of the few interesting ideas I've found lately, but there don't seem to be many reviews of it online.

    https://coince.com

It looks too good to be true (ponzi scheme), but I'm not quite ready to give up on it just yet. Anyone heard of it/have any opinions?

    http://managingyourfinance.com/coince-review-is-it-a-scam-before-invest
    TL;DR
    - red flag 1: referral program
    - red flag 2: vague investment info
    - red flag 3: e-currency account required = unlicensed money transmitter
    - red flag 4: high and unsustainable yields promised

Good to see OT and Reb active; eating their fruits and veggies
FWIW - Pulled out of market, looking for a large fall
Been buying and selling one stock; CHK
Bought and Sold 3 times in last month for 3 gains
Did put a portion in real gold and silver in January and February
Other than Chesapeake, will sit on sidelines

BEST to all - Getting ready for 3rd back operation - Pain has been terrible at best; swore that I would never be cut on again but they cannot kill this pain

Been slammed this summer, we still need to hook up haven't forgotten ;) and fwiw, I added to position last friday more from charts than anything else....long term potential W (inverse head & shoulders) pattern see chart below....lining up symmetrical from a timing standpoint ie., from the lows in April '08 to the lows in Jun '12 4yrs 2mos/ lows from Jun'12 to current lows Aug'16 4 yrs. 2mos. risk/reward $1/??? could be lining up with the fundamentals now that Sanofi is out of the picture ;) OKie, sorry to hear about the back sounds absolutely brutal, hope this next surgery is "the charm"!!

Reb, where do you see MNKD in 3,6,9,12,24 months?

They currently have enough cash runway into Q1/17, they now have their own sales force are planning on filing for label change to show superiority over current rapid prandial insulins, and while they had to dilute and stand a decent chance of further dilution they will be retaining 100% of sales revenue as opposed to 35%. Co pay cards are now easily available, along with other steps to make getting scripts easier than the Sanofi sandbag period. Expecting scripts to really start to pick up within the next 3 mos. which should be the fundamental catalyst to get this moving north again. As far as the time periods you mentioned after the 3 mos. that is assuming they do not get bought out once they prove they can go it alone which is the big question mark in the next 6 mos. Obviously, I still believe they will make it and if/when that realization takes place form the upside of that right inverse shoulder we should hopefully see within the next 2-6 mos.

Here's a pure speculation for you-- selling at .0375 cents. It ran from .035 to about .05 a couple of days ago, and more people seem to be getting on board. More importantly, just moved from the grey sheets to fully reporting on the OTC Bulletin Board. Symbol RMHB

Here's a new article on one of my favorite little companies-- Alkane (ANLKY-- ALK in Australia)--- zero debt, producing gold mine paying the bills, and huge upside from a rare earth project which only needs funding (all the government hurdles have been met). When they get in production it will be the world's biggest producer of hafnium. This went up to Australian $ .65 earlier this year, and backed off on profit taking, and the gold price dropping. At the current price in the 30 cent (Aussie) range, it is being priced like it is only a gold mine. The rare earth project is the kicker, and should get at least a triple from here.

Here is the latest article at SA.

Does anyone have knowledgable investment advice about emerging Blockchain technology companies like ethereum or Dash or any others? Everyone knows about bitcoin but these companies are starting to get major commercial backing like Microsoft for ethereum. Dash wants to be so easy to use "any mom can use it" and they have a great name and marketing strategy it seems. Seems like this market is about to explode even more than it already has and there should be good opportunies to make $$$ and escape our ever inflating dollar. Looks like bitcoin ETF run by Winklevous twins is about to get approved. Will bitcoin be the "Netscape" of this space and get crushed by companies doing the exact same thing except better? I would love to hear any thoughts and ideas?

Haven't looked recently but see that MNKD had a reverse 5/1 split nice. I guess it's better then BK but then again the knife in the heart soon to follow.

Yes you can but you have 1/5 shares of what you had before the reverse split. If you had 5k shares you now have 1k shares. It didn't go from 52c to a $1.80 on any good news from that POS

I see it split on Friday and close $2.13 and of course it's down to $1.78

That's always the way with reverse splits--- down, down, and down some more.

Not with ACLS. Down in the beginning and up up up for a nice little profit even with a 3/1 reverse split.

Of course it depends on the company-- but, in general you have a forward split if your stock price has risen above the range you'd like to keep it in-- and those reverse splits usually come when the stock price has been tumbling, and they want to keep it on NASDAQ or where ever. Then they usually find more suckers and raise money at the higher price.

Steam comes out of my ears when I hear one of the yoyo's spout what he learned in business school-- when they spent 2 minutes talking about splits-- "it's all about accounting, everything is the same." Which is most always BS.

Minger, OT, and others that followed the MNKD I am posting this here instead of the MNKD thread you started to keep any stock posts within one thread as opposed to starting a bunch of them, it's a sports forum and GOATS was good with this one when we started it back in the day so would prefer to keep one thread for all stocks etc. Having said that:

Regarding the recent developments over the last year your recap was pretty good, new management, revised label from FDA, and one thing you didn't mention recapitalization. I will break down for those that have not been following for some time.

Yes new management, Mike Castagna took over as CEO, he came from Amgen which is a premier biotech and he is a PharmD. Matt P. who had taken over after the founder Al Mann passed away was a CFO originally. So now you have someone that has a great deal of understanding when it comes to science and drugs. This has been evident when he speaks at the conferences and his confidence was conveyed by a tweet he recently put out that he wouldn't trade his current position for any right now. That spoke volumes right before the recent price took off.

On 10/2 the FDA approved a label change which effectively allows MNKD to market Afrezza as the fastest acting insulin both in and out of the body. This is huge as previously the original label basically had the sales reps hands tied behind their backs in what they could say regarding the superiority of the drug. This will be instrumental in getting the scripts up and convincing insurers of the benefits of longer term health benefits with sub diabetic hbA1c's numbers among both T1 and T2 diabetics. Those that have been taking it the last two years have shown drastic improvement in both their blood glucose levels and quality of lives.

The price increase allowed the company to do a direct placement which closed yesterday whereby they raised approx. 57 million. The dilution was minimal ( roughly 10 milliion shares) about 1/5 compared to what it would have been just two weeks prior. Also what was reported yesterday via SEC filing, the chairman of the board Kent Kresa purchased 1 million worth with that same offering showing a big vote of confidence on where the company should be heading.

A couple of other notes, they have a good talks with the FDA about another application for pulmonary arterial hypertension in the lungs, and behind that an application for epinephrine....my wife (an ICU nurse for 30yrs) said they could be huge for the purposes intended. Like most longs, I never sold my shares and when I heard the new CEO interviewed along with their submission for the label change I actually went heavy with deep ITM call options and purchased some more stock. Needless to say the last two weeks have been a lot of fun for me but more importantly will be the people with diabetes that should have better access to this life improving drug.

A couple of recent (last couple of days) links, first link is the CEO in recent interview, the second link at roughly the 22:00 min. mark is Nate Pile of Nate's Notes (ranked #1 portfolio on Hurlbert) who has been a steadfast long, he breaks down what has been the story with this stock and company)

Looking at casino stocks with the legalization of sport betting. 8 states so far and everyone is looking to partner up. It’s a Long term hold and I think my old company MGM should do well in the coming years.
