Tommy, if my local doesnt offer -.5 as part of the match but rather only ml's and totals do you suggest passing?
Tor instance on Congo/Gabon he only has the following:
Gabon -115
Congo +350
Draw +220
Over 1.5/2 -145
Under 1.5/2 +120
When playing an underdog like this, you can always convert a 3-way line to a 2-way line by making plays on both the draw and the side you want. So in this instance, if you put 70 on the draw and 50 on the Congo, you'd be risking 120 and would get back 104-105 in the event that they don't lose. Based on that, you're looking at around -115 for Congo, which would have been pretty borderline for me (it's about the furthest I would have gone with it).
What exactly does +.5 mean? I'm not too familiar with soccer 3 way lines but am always looking to learn. Also on those totals in a 2 or 3 way how are they graded if they're O1.5/2 -140? Say I wager $280/$200 essentially am I betting half that it goes over 1.5 and the other half I'm hoping it goes over 2? Thanks Tommy
It means that if the game ends up tied, you win if you played the underdog. It's common in soccer, but you'll also see it in some spots in American sports, ie if you bet the 60 minute line in an NHL game (then, if you played the team that's +.5 and it heads into overtime, you win).
So you dont bet the draw bc of the pontential your team wins outright? It's starting to make more sense and I apologize for cluttering your thread. I edited last post and added a ?
No problem...I didn't bet the draw because I thought that there was a bigger edge in the +.5 for this game.
