Does anyone know what a 1/2 is worth. For ex. under 27 1/2( -110) or under(28-127). I would imagine in this case the under 27 1/2 would be slightly better.

JMO but the .5 run is worth more than 17 cents I would say closer to the 20/25 cents. I'm going from what I've been seeing at various books with different lines. It may not be 100% accurate but I think it's close about 40 cents a full number. In this case the 28 cost you a loser. What I mean if it was the same prices and the numbers were 28 and 28.5 if it falls 28 at least it's a push so laying less money could be worth it. Not a great mind set but it's something to look at. Hope I'm making sense. I know BM sometimes is -140 for a .5 run more and everyone else is -115.
Thank you Old Timer. One book I have had the R-H-E at 27 1/2 -110 and the other at 28-127. I played the higher juice if the number lands at 28 but wasn't sure if that was the right move. Seemed like 17c was a lot but your saying it's closer to 20-25c for a better number. Thanks again.

Now I don't know that for fact but it appears that way when I see other books with different lines and I think it's in the ballpark. This would be a good question for Ronbets or StevieY which both are better than me. or even ebe might have an idea. There's some sharp math minds around here maybe someone will chime in with an opinion.

Personally, I don't think the 1/2 point would be worth that much. The books may charge that, or more for the half-run, but if you look at most totals' conversion charts moving off a much lower number than 27 1/2 doesn't even cost that much, so with the greater variable of HREs I wouldn't assess that much value to the half run. For instance, moving a total from 11 1/2 to 12 is only worth 13 cents or from 12 to 12 1/2 only worth 12 cents. Now, without actually knowing the push rates for the HRE numbers I'm only guessing as to the actual worth of a 1/2 run, but 20 to 25 cents seems high to me.

Yes we have that chart and I didn't think to compare to those numbers. I was pretty much comparing books to books with different numbers. But you bring up valid points. Thanks Bucky
Without going into particulars, Bucky is on to it.
Speaking of half pts on HRE. Last night's LAD game is on 26(half pt under), with Rhys Hopkins at the plate with 2outs in the 9th . He's battling resurgent Kenley Jansen and was getting good swings. The last pitch he was protecting the plate on an inside heater and fouled the ball square on his nose and mouth. Never saw a brutal injury like that ever. Tough kid and walked back on his own. Pinch hitter was K'ed.
