I don't have much to add; the above two responses sum it up IMO.

I would go so far as to say there's a < 1% chance any individual bettors would ever get in trouble simply for depositing, betting, and/or withdrawing.

    1) Very unlikely, but certainly no guarantees. In other words, no lawyer is going to promise your safety.

    2) Only effective for smaller deposits/withdrawals.

It's limited even in that respect. Both MG and WU will blacklist people who they feel are using their service too much.

If that's the case, I'm going to have to let all the Mexicans that work for me know to let their families know that sin dinero el mes que

Everything I am hearing says BetEd got hit the hardest. I've tried contacting them via phone and e-mail and have obviously gotten no responses. For anyone who has inside knowledge, is it safor for me to assume that I have no chance in hell of ever seeing my money again?

If you haven't read this by now, Covers and SBR have reported that BetEd is indeed out of business.

I'm sorry for your loss (and anyone else's who had money there) and hope the amount lost won't have a significant impact on your bankroll or your life.

Apreciate your honesty and sentiments. The $250 will not make or break my life...it is more the principle than anything. I am a small-time bettor who likes to do several plays per night at a buck or two each for action. And you are telling me the Feds have nothing better to do than go after stuff like this? Sounds like a pretty sad commentary to me. Thanks again.

It's been a long time since I've posted or been on this forum. I had to leave the country to continue playing poker online due to this crap. I would be very wary of keeping meaningful amounts of money with any sportsbook online at this point. There's really no telling where the DOJ will stop, they've already grossly overstepped their bounds. There are some good articles on this here if anyone is interested: http://www.gamblingandthelaw.com/blog.html

I think this is all going to be legalized, including sports betting some day. Until that day, there's going to be a lot more unfortunate stories like this.

Just curious, what do you think sets Bookmaker apart? Also, they (well, CRIS) own two of the other sites from that list (Betmaker and DSI).
I think it's the same as any other huge corporation, they are contributing to political campaigns, so that even though the FBI may be investigating them, they have a Teflon coating.
