San Fran is tempting but -168 on Tomko is to difficult a number to
swalllow.

I have seen a lot of posts taking the run line for the Giant game.

As stated earlier I won't play the game because, in my opinion, -168 is to
high for Tomko with any team.

However, it doesn't make sense to me to play the run line either.
Firstly, the Giants win a lot of close games. While the home run ball may
be a factor with Bonds it is my belief that the Giants win more games
scoring 4 or 5 runs and not 8, 9 or 10. Yes, they did it yesterday with
11 but that was yesterday.

Secondly, The Giants are 4-6 in last 10 and Tomko is 5-6 this season. A
win in this situation for the Giants would be nice let alone winning on
the run line.

Finally, The Giants have no closer and traded away their main set up man
in FeRod. The public may not view FeRod as a good setup man but those who
know the Giants know the team was very confident in his abilities in this
role. Also, Hermanson has moved to the closer role, a role he is not
happy about.

That's a lot of negatives or unknowns to bet the run line. Nevertheless,
everyone, their dog and cat are on the Giant Run line.

Perhaps Cincy and Acevado are that bad or perhaps the added protection for
Bonds is that good.

I'll be watching on the sidelines but would appreciate yours and anyones
thoughts on this one as I am a Giant fan and shocked at the love for this
game.
