Cardinals -165 tonight. Playing it big.

Feeling like lady luck is back on my side after somehow Nevada and La Tech
somehow managed to go over the total this afternoon. Now jumping on the
Cards bandwagon.

I am not the most solid baseball capper on the planet, but I have realized
that streaks are very, very prominent in America's past time, and it's
tough to bet against them. I see Carpenter being a -230 fav in this one
and the price is only at -165, so i'll bite. Carpenter has been awesome
this year, having held opponents to one run or less in four of his last
five starts to lower his ERA from 3.89. He's 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA over that
span.

Cards have won 9 in a row and 14 of 16, while the Pads have lost 5 of 6
and are fading fast in the Wild Card race. (I believe they've been
overachieving all year just as the Brewers were the first half, and are
coming back down to reality.) On top of it all Padres starter Jake Peavy
is a mere 2-7 at home this year.

St Louis wins by 4, and that's a FACT! (my ode to the cocky bastard)

    Peavy???

Eaton is the starter for the Padres.
    The Cardinals should still win.

Youre right, my bad. The stats I quotes are correct, I just (as usual)
had my mind going 10 steps ahead of my fingers.

I really need to start previewing these posts before I send them to the
server. Second time today I did that.

The Cards are my team and have been for 31 years and I am like you I
really can't bet against them at all. But you and I both know they are due
to lose. So be real careful when you go with this 1st Game. They have
traveled along ways , so do be Careful. My Pick will be about 15 Minutes
before Game. San Diego lays good ball at home !!

    Thx's

Thank you for the input. Padres, however, are only 34-35 at home so far
this year. Cards are a stellar 44-21 away.

Couple that with the best offense around and a red-hot starting pitcher in
Carpenter and it all points to the Cards winning big. I wasnt able to
find out if Pujols is playing for sure tonight or not. I know Walker is
out, but it'd be bad for us if Pujols was out as well.

Padres have looked bad lately. And Cardinals have been rock solid. I've
only played them 6 times this year and have lost every single game. I
played them all three games in a Pirates series this yr and of all things
they got swept. I'm playing them tonite. This baseball shit really
frustrates me sometimes. Look at games yesterday. Padres going up
against a pitcher with a 13.00 ERA and they don't score shit. A's going
against a stiff who had lost 9 of his 10 previous starts and get creamed.
The ChiSox and M's with 2 shitty pitchers going and the under covers and
the worst of the two pitchers wins easily. Why does this stuff happen???
Just venting a little. Go Cards!!!

I am with you guys, you have to ride a streak, you can only lose once, but
win many times. Also taking Oakland, Zito 16-2 in September, and the A's
    45-19 at home.
