Pick of the Day
Belmont Park Race 1, #3 EPIC
Claiming, 1 Mile, 4yo and up
Post Time ( 1:00) ET

(1) IT'S SO SIMPLE 3/1
(2) CAT STORY 9/2
(3) EPIC
(4) MOUNT INTREPID 6/1
(5) SIR TYLER T 6/1
(6) BOLDEST HEART 15/1

Pace Scenario: Edgar Prado will sent It's So Simple to the lead with close
pressure from Epic.

Pick of the Day:
# 3 EPIC Makes his second start off the claim for trainer Gary Contessa
and top claiming owner Maggi Moss. Epic pressed a fast pace June 3 and
continued to gain on the winner up to the wire, only to lose a head
decision while racing on just four days rest. Sharp 5yo catches a field
without much early speed so the pace should be more moderate today. He'll
stalk the expected leader It's So Simple and should prove tough to hold
off in the final furlong under hot rider Coa. Epic has won 2 of 4 at this
distance.

Wagering Strategy:
Play # 3 EPIC to WIN. Six unit Exacta partwheel # 3 with # 1, 4. Reverse
for two units.

A unit = your base wager. For example, if you are a $2 bettor, one unit
would equal $2. These are just suggestions, so please remember to wager
within your comfort level. Every effort has been made to ensure the
program numbers are correct but please double check before wagering.

After falling to hit a horse that pays for last 2 days, he has resorted to
a huge favorite. This horse may go off at 3/5, maybe even worse. Thus,
the reason for a "6" unit exacta.

I am thingking about playing the 1 horse, especially if the odds on it get
better. Would probably do an exacta box with the 3, yet, I think 1 horse
wins outright. I have to watch the odds.

clueless, when you pick a horse what all are you looking at?

In the program that youbet.com offers I dont really get that much info. Is
there a better place to see the finishes of horses and the distances?
Maybe even a little breakdown of the competition they ran against.

    Thanks

As long as he hits the exacta I don't care what the horse goes off at!

Can somebody help me out here?
I know what an exacta is
but what is a exacta partwheel?
Also is the exacta #3 to come in 1st (win)than #1 to come in 2nd (place)?

    Thanks.

Exacta part-wheel is when you take one horse to win and part of the field
for second. Since you are only taking some of the horses for second it is
    known as part-wheel....

Also 4 scares me a bit so put a little on win and place.

with the money I spent on the exactas that didn't hit I think I lose money
vs. my win ticket. The Wiz is certainly interesting.... but picking 1-2
horses as POD's doesn't take a pay site to make happen.

You lost your Ass on that bet with the 8 units on the exactas.

Depends on how many units you played the horse to win.......

You should not bet huge on a 3/5 horse, to much at stake. Wizards win
bets are 1 unit, that's why he puts big bets on exacta, to improve the
    odds.

Wizards win and place bets are 10 units, not 1 unit. Makes a little bit
    of a difference.
