I recieved this email today from a lady who read my post back in January
regarding a college hoops pick....Here is a portion of that email...
"I am really surprised at your attitude toward rape humor. Would you tell
your daughter a rape joke? Do you think fathers of rape victims or
brothers would find them funny, or even neutral right now? Or will they
in six months? Or a year? Even if they are men and are taking part in a
sport's forum chat? If she resisted and got hurt would that make them
relax and enjoy it funnier? If she was too frightened to resist or if she
thought resistance would worsen her circumstances does that suggest that
at some level she wanted it? or should have enjoyed it even if she didn't
want it? The level of sexual assault in this country is so high, that in
any gathering of people--even a fairly small one--there is likely to be
someone who has been assaulted or who has had a friend or family member
assaulted. Is a little bit of humor worth the risk that you will recall
or worsen the trauma of someone who has been through this?
I have never been sexually assaulted. I have never actually been close to
being sexually assaulted. I, however, have been in a situation where a
man threatened as a way of convincing/encouraging me to say yes. In
hindsight, he had no real intention of forcing himself on me--but I didn't
know that at the moment. Trust me, the rush of fear and horror at that
moment is not erotic. The panic of being restrained by someone who is
threatening to force themselves on you is pretty overwhelming and
powerful. And anything that brings up memories of that moment is
guaranteed to completely destroy any arousal/eroticism that exists."

During our absence here due to sickness we have noticed that the board has
become quite boring. Hopefully it will get better as we get back more into
the mix.

Sports can have its side affects. Many experience bleeding in the interior
lining of the stomach, long and tedious urine expulsion, temporary panic
attacks, and loss of sexual appetite. Some may also slightly discolored
and soft stools, particularly in the morning. Many have also complained of
slightly green stools but that has nothing to do with this. That comes
from eating too much damn spinach and artichoke dip. If any or all of
these symptoms continue, stop viewing this site immediately and see a
doctor, or wait until AAA Sports makes a play.....)

NCAAB: South Carolina Fighting Gamecocks at Mississippi State Bulldogs -
Mississippi State -6.5 -110
Game Date: 1/22/2005
Note: Mississippi State was crushed their last time out as we predicted.
It was not the right time for them to be without and try to adjust to the
injury to their outstanding guard Frazier. Alabama taught them a lesson I
guess you could say. The Bullies are back home at the Hump and things
should be different today. Vegas has overreacted again and the 6.5 spot is
way low for this game. The Bulldogs are still very talented and have a
decided advantage over the Gamecocks in the paint. Mississippi State has
been devastating at home this year and we expect the same tonight. As
Bobby Knight once said, "When Rape is apparent, the best thing to do is
just sit back and enjoy it." Gamecock Head Coach David Odom needs to find
a large Oak tree in Starkville, hang on tight, whip down his britches, and
await the Mississippi State Bulldog Soul Train....Ouch!

Doc has pretty much given me the OK and says that I am going to live. It
was pretty scary a few weeks ago, but he says because of my superior
health, I was able to pull through. He says through the entire thing my
blood pressure and heart rate was perfect. He did tell my girlfriend and
me some very disturbing news though. He said that we could resume a normal
sex life. I guess for now, normal will be ok but we were really hoping we
could get back to what we were doing prior to the sickness........

Have all been eliminated from my writeup vocabulary. It kind of sucks
since now I can no longer pick New York. I thought I had a way around that
by refering to them as the Bronx Bombers but with the 911 thing that is
out too. I am working my way through the whole thing with a positive
attitude?..In addition, there will be no picks on September 11th since
that will appear on the pick writeup date. Kinda sucks with that being
Sunday and a big day of NFL. I am still reseaching a few more "Can't Use"
words or phrases and any help would be appreciated...
