....The Wsox rested yesterday and are on a 7 game winning streak, the Cubs
have lost their last 2, including a heartbreaker to Milw yesterday.
....Garcia (6-3, 3.75, in 14 starts, whip 1.20) the last 3+ yrs vs Cubs he
is 2-0 in 3 starts, throwing 15 innings allowing only 1 run...furthermore,
the last 3+ years,""in Day games he is 21-5""throwing 242 innings allowing
91 earned runs for a 3.38 era...so the Cubs really have their work cut-out
for them trying to win this game today....Current Cubs players have a
batting against Garcia of .187..
....Mitre (2-2, 4.19 era, in 6 starts, whip 1.16)..has never faced the
WSox,nor their current players, in his short 2 yrs experience, while he
has pitched well in some games- Not so well in Day games where Mitre is
1-2, 6.59 era, in 7 starts & 1 relief.., Lifetime, Away, he is 2-5, 7.12
era, in 8 strts and 2 relief, however please note that this year, at home
in Chgo Wrigley Field Mitre is 2-0, 2.54 era, in 4 starts, throwing 28.6
inn 8 earned runs..he has never pitched vs the WSox or at USCellular ball
park, how well he does there will be answered today, he can be dangerous,
but not likely enough to outduel Garcia and the WSox. we'll know the
answer to that this evening..
....Bullpens: WSox has the better with a 3.22 era, Cubs 4.09 era.
....Weather report: Mostly clear, wind blowinn right to left 10-20 mph,
gametime temp estmated about 95F.
