no idea how this factors in but def will hurt Carolina's prep. He had a house fire earlier today. Everyone is ok but it has to be a major distraction for him.

    Something to think about, but I'd be really concerned if he was on the active roster. Coaches have fared well under worse condition. Death of parents or spouse. Also Dungy put aside his kid's suicide to lead the Colts into playoffs.
    Rivera was on the hot seat(no offense) at the start of the year and this might provide him with a built-in excuse when they face Pete Carroll and lose.

    There coaches nothing distracts them that isnt football related.

    Unfortunately i'm sure his wife is going to bear the brunt of all the effort to get the house in order. He probably wasn't even home when it caught fire.
