Was looking at Pom's historical rankings.Sometimes he had a team say 7th in ranking for the year overall but they were seeded say 7th in the tourney.Am trying to find a way to assign weight to each and see how much of an advantage there would be in playing a future on a team that was way undervalued by the tourney or better yet beat the fucker who always wins my wife;s office pool by picking the team with red pants...
For example..
Team A ..ranked 6 in Pom in 2004..but # 4 seed in tourney..very good value
Team B..Ranked 7 in Pom in 2007 but #7 seed in tourney..very good value
Team C..Ranked 9 in Pom in 2009 but 5 #5 seed in tourney..very good value
Team D..Ranked 26 by Pom in 2010 but 6 seed in tourney(about avg)
Team E..Ranked 34 by Pom in 2004 but 8 seed(about where they should be)
Get my drift..?? What percentage of POM would equal tourney seeding..say divide by 2 to see how much hypothetical advantage I would have...
