Not many people in the world can originate consistent winners, let alone those who post for free on a public forum.

What incentive would a consistent winner have to give away $ on a message board?

I'm quite sure Ed would give your money back if you're unhappy with the product

Are you talking about the $10 you paid. Were you under the assumption that people like RAS who sell picks for a living was all of a sudden going to start putting there plays out for free on a regular basics. He puts up 1/2 times plays and sometimes a side every now and again. But I have to say almost 3/4 times a week there's someone begging for somebody to put up plays. Have you looked tonight. There's Tommy L off to a 10-4 record with plays there's Procap who has been doing well and he has some NBA going on. there's the one a day thread with some pretty solid people putting up one play a day.

Jala also has been doing well lately so you see there's plenty to look at. Your here since August can you write a short paragraph on what you learn here about handicapping sports and doing your own work. Because I'll tell you if your talking about the $ 10 I would ask for a refund. Sorry I'm coming off rather rude but that's my intention. I believe that StevieY has a pay service besides RAS why don't you dig deep and pay something and when they put it on the site that you pay for on a semi regular basics see how that goes over.

I just come from a world where you don't beg for anything you do it yourself and if it isn't there you don't whine about being disappointed. Nobody is keeping you here. WTF has been going on here with these 10-30 posts most all coming up with stupid shit. What ever happen to look, learn and ask questions and then contribute.

One last thing if your not sure what you paid for has to be one of the most idiotic things I've heard in a while here.

Perhaps, but I'm far more inclined to think like Goats in that most people are more interested in the money. This is the inherent problem with sharing plays. These markets are not that big. Winners will quickly find that their action is not welcome most places. They will also grow their rolls to where limits are an issue pretty quickly.

If an advantage player likes something, they are probably going to max bet it at pinny/cris and it's going to move the line. If you are going to share after you've bet, the follower is going to be taking the worse of it. Or if you only share when the line comes back, they are probably getting your worst bets. May still be some +ev left but for many they would probably at that point share privately rather than publicly.

I don't particularly mind sharing, but as I mentioned above the plays I would be able to post would likely be ones where someone (presumably sharp) is fading me or where I got in at a much better line at which point the value is very questionable. I'm going to be tackling some larger soccer markets next year, so maybe I'll start a thread.

Reb gave out ONVO at 2 bucks a share 6 months ago. Today it closed over 9 bucks. So ask Ed for your 10 bucks back and put it in ONVO..

Gee wizz you guys sure buy into the idea of not giving anything away for free which is exactly the same mentality here the forum is not free but there is not much discussion topics floating around thats all. We all do the same thing search different forums and the internet for valuable information and I think we were all drawn to the forum because RAS and Helmut lurk here but i dont see alot of discussion from there either.. Sunbelter is the only one who i consistently look for even if its a few sentences of insight or a reason he is playing one way or the other its valuable to me. I am not sure what is so wrong by trying to get people to share some information for the benefit of those who are forum members. isnt that why we are all here?

Try to be the first in line it works better in the long run. Anything to share in the NBA tonight and if you need write-ups which most people don't do check out SJ55. But if you ask questions on a particular game some people might give a sentence or two to help you out but somehow I don't think that's what your looking for.

I disagree. i think youll find alot of people who dont buy into this mentality, i asked someone one time who i check in on alot and he consistently wins and documents it and when asked he explained that he makes enough off his own bets that he doesnt need to open a service. For many people especially on forums its a hobby and something they do for fun and of course take seriously.. not something they do to bridge into a service to make a living

Opening a service is almost always reserved for coin flippers that have run hot. Winning against reasonably sized markets it's gonna be real difficult as a hobby. And as I said before, you can't bet unlimited. Unless someone is a winner and just wants to bet $50 a game and give the rest of their ev away, eventually their roll will grow to the point that they are moving the entire market when they bet. If they show they are good on a board, someone else is going to eat up all the lines. Watch what happens when BG posts an overnight MLB play. Someone pops it a pinny within 3 seconds and it moves everywhere in the world.

Take the question about this thread. Totals are available at 2-3 books for $500 limits. A $500 bet at any of them is going to move the line. Now maybe Edward will share something as an advertisement for his service or because the limits are too small to even bother, but pretty much any winning gambler is going to have the roll to want to take that all for themselves.

I believe that was myself that gave out ONVO, in Reb's thread...I also gave out DDD, which was at $52 at the time and has since split 3/2, and is at $76 today. But enough about me, :)

My apologies Dubbs! Love that one!

Who gave out MNKD? That is still around 5 bucks a share and is supposed to move after January.

Thanks to whoever for MNKD and Dubbs, keep em coming!

Super late to this, but durito - how does buffettgambler fit into your comment there? Assuming he is as good as he is, and maybe he can just answer for himself if he notices this, but what is the deal with him? Do you tail his NFL plays? Just curious.

Why he gives away his work at the times he does is a mystery to me, though I appreciate it as yes I bet them if I can get the #. Look at the overnight MLB plays he's posted the last couple of years. Someone (not me) maxes them at pinny within 5 seconds of his post which moves the lines 10+cents at every sportsbook in the world. That's a whole lot of $$$ he just handed over to someone else.

I picture Buffett as a retired hedge fund manager/billionaire, who lounges around his manor all day in a suede bath robe, lighting up cubans with hundos. And just analyzes sports betting markets for the fun of it, giving it away for free, because when you're a billionaire, why not.

Haha, I envision him the same way. Maybe he'll jump in here and unveil a bit of his mystery for us.
