Great article. The research that I'd read in the past really bothered me, as I just couldn't really comprehend it based on personal experience. Speaking strickly from a basketball standpoint, I've always been a streaky shooter. When I make a few and get some confidence, shots start to fall. When I go cold, I go ice cold. Same thing for me with putting in golf. If I sink a few putts, the hole looks like a huge bucket to me. I miss a few short ones, and I suddenly have the yips and the hole looks miniscule.
i agree TL. i realize you can flip "tails" many times in a row and it is just random, but i think there is something to being confident, and even over confident on the negative side, that affects the next outcome. coins dont have thoughts and emotions but i sure do.
