I am in a big $$$ auction pool at Bobby Valentine's. Teams go for between $500 all the way up to 20k. Unfortunately, can't afford to buy the higher seeds, so looking for a few lower seeds. Any thoughts on...

Belmont over Arizona
Davidson to get by Marquette and then possibly the winner of Butler/Bucknell
Round 1 winner over Memphis
N.C State to make a little run.
Michigan going out in 1st round.

or any other thoughts you might have. Thanks, guys.

It's tough to give any thoughts without knowing the payouts.

Auctions are a ball - try and have prices in mind and be prepared to jump on some dogs at rediculously low prices

    This one is very expensive

Thanks- yeah it's fun, but a long night, each team is picked out of a hat one by one. 15 and 16 seeds are grouped together.

Only a matter of time before pools like this start getting busted left and right, not worth the potential loss of funds to fool with IMO.

Isn't it legal as long as the "house" isn't taking a cut and is paying out 100% of what comes in? That's what a lawyer friend told me long ago.

    IMO.

They have been doing this for 20 years. House takes no money. What is the difference between this and buying Super Bowl squares at a bar?
