MIAMI, OHIO over Army (-1) - The projected MAC East frontrunners have been a major disappointment as they enter this game with an 0-4 record overall, 0-1 in the MAC. But the visiting Black Knights are only 2-3 overall and have lost both previous road trips to MAC schools Northern Illinois and Ball State by 23 points or more

SAN DIEGO STATE - Hard to believe that TCU only ranks 90th in total defense after finishing 1st in that statistical category each of the last three years. San Diego State RB Ronnie Hillman is the nation's second-leading rusher with 151.5 yards per game, including 109 in the Aztecs' lone loss at Michigan.

Southern Miss - Navy has two straight losses - at South Carolina and at home to Air Force - by a total of 4 points. Southern Miss won at Virginia but inexplicably lost at Marshall. The Golden Eagles rank 11th nationally against the run.

Randy, agree on the Miami Oh play vs army..i live close to army and the local paper had a huge article on how this is a very difficult week for army because of a rigorous exam schedule this week..they were given monday off and they are they were also limiting practice time this week due to the exhausing exam schedule for the cadets..i couldn't find the link on the newpapers website unfortunately but i found a few quotes on the army website regarding the difficult week.

"Army coach Rich Ellerson is dialing down practice this week to help his team, which is knicked up.

The team didn’t practice in pads like it normally does on a Tuesday. Ellerson said if a pads practice was held a lot of his team would be watching if they did.

Ellerson expects sophomore wide receiver Jared McFarlin (concussion) to return this week. Sophomore linebacker Justin Trimble (leg) is likely out for Saturday’s game at Miami (Ohio)."

A couple of more quotes regarding army's difficult week, i found fishing around the local newspaper from coach Ellerson:

"We have two real challenges this week. The first one is our own. Can we, in a difficult week academically, go on the road to the scene of several crimes, the Midwest, where we have played poorly, and manage our week, manage our enthusiasm, manage our legs, manage our time and get our rest and play well; play well on the road. The other challenge is Miami. Miami hasn’t won a game, which is crazy when you look at the video tape"

On if he’s preparing the team differently for this road trip
“A couple of things are a little different. We have the experience of what a Thayer Week can do to you the last time and we didn’t handle it very well, so we’re going to do some Draconian things in preparation for this contest. Our sophomore class is in an especially difficult week; a challenging week. So, we’re going to do whatever we need to to accommodate those guys, so they can get their work done, prepare and at the same time get enough sleep so physically and nutritionally they’re going to be ready to go. Two, we’re at that point in the season after five tough games that we have just enough nicks and bruises and sprains that it makes sense to back off a little bit in terms of our physical work this week. If we go out there and we try to have a very traditional, fundamental practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, we’ll be practicing with guys who won’t be playing in the game because the guys are going to play in the game, we hope, just can’t practice that way. They’re a little bit banged up. We also have that group of guys that could use that practice that our sophomores, but frankly their time is not going to allow that. We’re going to do something that’s unique to West Point, we’re going to manage our time accordingly.”

Trying to go 3-0 on the season. Like Texas Tech + 320 and Kansas State +120. For record keeping purposes my official play is Texas Tech. Sure glad those second half folding aggies are going to the SEC. The Big 12 has replaced a&m with a better program... TCU

2 weeks in a row, Auburn last week and the Demon Deacons this week. Both @ (+330.) A real trend, huh?
