Small School Homecoming

I was wondering if anyone had looked into how schools fare on their homecoming game. I am a Texas alum, and don't even think we have a homecoming, but my gf's parents are UL - Lafayette (or U.S.L for the old folks) alum and we are going to today's game. I know they would never go to any other game. Was wondering if these small schools where homecoming means something play better than normal. Have a small wager on ULL -6 just to make the game interesting, but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts?

I think that any time that you can affect the HFA, no matter how small of a school, you can gain an advantage. If ULL usual HFA is -1 or -1.5, and you fill the stadium for any reason, you can take that HFA to -2, or -2.5. If the linesmaker didn't adjust for homecoming, then you have gained a half to full point advantage on the line. That in itself has value.
