2009-2010 NBA RECORD: 73-62 (+5.7 units)
2009-2010 NCAAB RECORD: 9-5 (+3.5 units)
2009-2010 OVERALL BASKETBALL: 82-67 (+9.2 units)

Didn't post much NBA over the weekend, mostly because I think most people were pretty engrossed in March Madness. Lets get the ball rolling again and finish the season strong.

Orlando Magic -8 (-110) (1.1 units to win 1 unit)

Like this spot for the Orlando Magic a lot. The Sixers are starting to really head into tank mode and the Magic are clicking and getting ready for a deep playoff run. Sixers have been struggling mightily over the past week or two, and have only managed to cover two of their last eight games. Banged up squad also with Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young not playing tonight. Sixers are also very poor as a home dog and have been pretty poor all season. It is a very easy place to play and the crowd noise is non-existant.

Sixers are using these last days of the season just to develop youth and try to get themselves into the lottery. Plenty of minutes for Jrue Holiday and without Lou Williams, I think the Sixers really lack a scoring punch off the bench that they will need to keep pace in this one. Dwight Howard has been kind of plagued by foul trouble and that is the only concern for me in this one. Vince Carter is starting to come around and that can be a scary thing for the rest of the eastern conference. I don't expect this one to be close.

Orlando Magic minus the points.

Atlanta Hawks/Milwaukee Bucks UNDER 190.5 (-110) (1.1 units to win 1 unit)

Will be playing the under tonight in this one. The Bucks are probably the second or third most commited team to defense in the East. Skiles has been preaching defense and the players have been buying in. Like I have said many times this Hawks team is certainly prone to laying eggs on the road, and the Bradley Center is a tough place to play.

The Bucks also have a game plan of controlling the pace of the games against some more fast paced teams that have better athletes and all around better players than theirs. A lot of blue collar players on the Bucks and I believe it will be a lower scoring affair if the Bucks control the tempo like they should. I also believe Bogut will control the paint and keep the Hawks off the glass to a certain extent. They certainly will not have as many second chance points in this one as they did against the Spurs last night.

Should be a pretty tight game with a playoff atmosphere as a lot of these games late in the season do. Games like this, you can count on the defense being turned up to another level in the 4th quarter, and possibly shortening possessions at the end. Expecting high 80s/low 90s for both teams.

Chicago Bulls -2 (-110) (1.1 units to win 1 unit)

I also like the Chicago Bulls tonight. They have been playing with a lot of heart despite being undermanned earlier in the week and last week. I believe this team still believes they can fight for a playoff spot though it seems very unlikely at this point. Derrick Rose returning gave this team a spark and he seemed completely healthy against the Sixers on Saturday.

The Rockets struggled to put the Knicks away yesterday afternoon on the road, and the Knicks really should have won that game if it weren't for Chris Duhon getting playing time when the game actually mattered. Not a big trend junkie and I do not play into a lot of trends but the Rockets are 5-12 when playing on a back-to-back, and the United Center is still one of the toughest places to play. I have seen some of the Rocket games when they play on back to backs, they look like chickens with their heads cut off for some reason.

Not having Shane Battier also hurts the Rockets a little bit defensively, I expect some more inexperienced players to get a lot more minutes tonight (Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger). Always a learning experience for guys like that and they are prone to some pretty boneheaded mistakes. With Noah starting to get back into game shape and should be getting around 20-25 minutes tonight at least I would imagine. Noah's presence in the paint means a lot, especially for a Rockets team that loves getting to the hoop and attacking.

I believe the Bulls win a close one tonight.

Good luck everyone. :clover:

yeah, they play solid defense and perfect pace for 11 minutes each quarter, then a 1 minute flury of about 4 3's each quarter ruins it...

if I lose I can at least fall back on the crutch of it being the right side lol

hmm thats a bad beat on the bucks/hawks

combining for 24 pts in a span of 2minutes at the end of the first half was pretty random...all the public squares on the over got themselves a nice win though....

lets see if the bulls hold on

owww that sucks really bad, it really should have gone under, in the 2nd quarter they had about 20 points combined about 9 mins into the 2nd quarter, i thought it was going way under...the hawks are the most sickening random team in the NBA next to the suns in my opinion
