Go For It On 4th Down

Coach at a prep school in Arkansas, Pulaski Academy, believes that "going for it on 4th down", is the thing to do. This year that team is 7-2, and punted only once. Last year they won the state championship in Arkansas' third-largest classification, and did not punt once. He gives "the math" to support his unorthodox way of being a successful coach. By the way should you want to google, coach's name is Kevin Kelley.

ESPN did a feature on this a few years back showing that the math actually does support going for it on 4th over punting under a certain down and distance. the main reason they gave for coaches punting so often in due to tradition and them not wanting the responsibility if it failed.
