Best Restaurants in LV...

edited June 2015 in Sports Betting
Seems slow enough on here to talk about something most love. Admittedly, I am looking to take advantage of the knowledge of the board on this one :) And, in terms of "best," I think it's best to rank based on value as any moron can spend a bunch of money on a good meal. Where's the bang for your buck in LV?!

All input is greatly appreciated.

Ate at a Mexican joint just off the strip area a couple weeks ago next to the new high roller ferris wheel thing. They had 2 for 1 margs and the food was excellent. Name of the place has slipped my mind but it was only like $120 for 4 of us.

Thanks buds. I've also heard that "Mariscos Playa Escondida" is pretty awesome for Mexican seafood.

Hash House A Go Go located in the Linq formerly the IP - great food not pricey and portions good size. This restaurant was featured on the cooking channel . They also have a location in San Diego

Spot on! Love that place their breakfast pancake stack could feed a small army and their coffee comes out in a french press. I like the sportsbook setup at The Linq as well.

Hey Bull I'm on the run now but I'll be back in a couple and I'll give you two local restaurants that I'm sure you'll enjoy very much and you won't pay Casino prices. For now if your on the Strip and want lunch check out Ramsey's burgr

(Yes that's the way burgr is spelled at his place) Stuffed Jalapenos, a burger called the Farm (Outstanding to my taste anyway) Every burger is great and save room for desert they have a pudding milk shake excellent.

    Prices not bad.

I'll get back to you with the two local places that I enjoy very much and I know you will to. Prices are 1/2 what you'll pay at a strip restaurant and get the same great food.

Looking forward to it buds & thanks for that burger place! I love a good burger (& jalape?os) and I am definitely going to have to get me a "burgr" when I get out there :)

No rush btw's, it's not urgent. I'm just moving out there in May (finally) and I love to eat! Thought it'd be a fun topic for everyone to chime in on during what seems to be a slow time right now in the discussion forum.

Good topic, and great info so far. Going to LV next weekend, looking for Italian specifically. Lavo @ Palazzo is my favorite so far. Any suggestions?

I can second this, live in San Diego and we take most of our visitors to Hash. Portions are HUGE! Try the chicken fried steak and waffle. And they have an amazing menu of bloody Mary's.

If your looking for a New York style steakhouse the Palm at Caesars it great (4* ambiance with 5* food). If you want Kobe Steak that is amazing go to Craftsteak in the MGM - very expensive but awesome.

I haven't been in over a year, but I always like to recommend the Barrymore. Don't let the hotel it's in fool you and being just off the strip may save a few bucks

Looking for "old school" Italian cuisine without getting gouged? Try Mastrioni's on Haulapei & DI. Also, The Sicilian Ristorante on Pecos. Haven't been to the latter since owner Pete passed away recently. It was a nice place to go when you felt like dissing the Democrats. LOL

If your willing to go a little off the strip the Italian American Club is great at very reasonable prices - the address is 2333 E Sahara Ave - the place has been around for over 50 years and has a true old Vegas feel.

Hey that was one of the two I was going to tell him about. I live 1 minute from there. If you like spaghetti and clams with the clams chopped my favorite way but they make it anyway you want and if you don't see something that's on the menu ask. They have a Bass with a picata sauce or anyway you want that will knock you off the table. Once a year Pete goes fishing for Sea Bass for two weeks and brings it home with him and you never had anything like this whiter then snow and so good you want to lick the plate. If you want to to stay traditional they make the best chicken Parm you'll ever eat. Head chef is Pete . When I was working me and my assistant were there every Thursday night at 7:30pm.

I agree with OT. "There are great steak house's in town for 1/2 the price." But if you're not looking for value then right now my favorite is Bazaar meat @ SLS. It's different than your usual high-end steakhouse. They have stuff like cotton candy foie gras. I thought they were crazy but it's great. The menu is full of interesting choices. If you like Rib Eye they must have a half dozen to choose from. If you like butter they have these great potatoes. On the menu it says something like - Butter, butter, more butter, some potatoes. The service is great & the place doesn't take itself too serious. If anyone here has been there i'm curious what you thought?
We also like Del Frisco's Double Eagle. It's east of the strip on Paradise. I haven't been there in a while but I always love it. Great steak & especially the huge lobster tails you can order by the ounce.

Old Timer, I live in LV and took your suggestion of Mastrionis. It was excellent. My wife and I both had excellent meals. The decor was much nicer than I expected. Your suggestions are always welcome. Thanks!!! John
