W2W do you agree on Obamas assessment of how much better of a country is China is than the USA based on the Olympics games. The man is crazy as a shit house rat.
Do you believe this shit? Trying to capture the lesbian vote that is still all pissed off because Hillary didn't get the nomination and isn't even on the ticket. If this is correct and I am releasing Obama-Biden as my 100 star lock of the political season.
screwd move. the vp can get away with the experience factor. At least she's been a chief executive. if Obama had, "Manager of a 7-11", on his resume, it would be more management experience than he has now. Running the most wealthy, most complex government in the world is not an entry level position.
You can go on youtube and watch it, it's only 27 seconds long. He talks about China's builidings, trains, and ports being so much better than the US. Half the country doesn't even have utilities (running water, electricity, etc.), they diverted water from country side farms to build the Olympic village and know those people in the farming communities are starving from nothing eat. Those great buildings and subway trains China has built are half ass built. They are not engineered for hurricanes or earthquakes. Go on youtube and listen to him talk. I'll give him one thing he is a great speaker.
yes china spends money to improve their infrastructure. We spend money to improve IRAQ's infrastructer. Seems odd to me.
china is not a 3rd world country, its a super power just like the united states, and again he never said it was a better country. Isnt it possible that the U.S doesnt make the best stuff?? Cars come to mind
She looks like a great choice. Obama didn't/wouldn't think those women voters of Hillary's were important huh? We'll see how he does with his tax everybody, spend money we don't have, rebuild Africa policies now, pie in the sky craziness, now. Go get Mr Biden and his ridiculous pompadour.
My sportsbook carries a line for the presidential race, which I just placed my bet on. Therefore, this thread is relevant.
I am completely neutral, been back and forth on who to vote for, and have been completely intrigued by this whole race. Now things just got dirty...and I love it.
I was watching the DNC this week and was moved by many things that were discussed, but am not buying the whole Bush third term gig. That said, I do believe in the fact that we would be viewed in a completely different global light if Obama was elected and could be exactly what this country needs.
Now, we see McCain cash in on the biggest blunder of Obama's campaign: the fact that he passed over Hillary for VP. All he had to do was choose Hillary and its game over. Not so fast....
What a beauty it was to hear Palin quote Hillary's speech about cracking the ceiling. Even if it was completely telegraphed and obvious that she is trying to pick up those votes.
All in all, the polls are more or less gonna be dead even after the GOP convention. McCain is getting +150 at my book. He announces a woman to steal the swing votes from Hillary supporters today and the line doesn't budge. Actually, I read above that Obama became a heavier favorite at some books today. Sure, she doesn't have the foreign policy experience, BUT who is the only person on either ticket with Executive experience? The only issues that could hurt her with Hillary voters are the strong Pro-life and anti-gay marriage stances.
You guys can put a 200 star pick on the heavy favorite Obama all day long. It has looked like his race to win or lose the whole way. I just see their campaign struggling to deal with the experienced and sly republicans who have proven time and again that they know how to campaign (whether or not they know how to run the government is a completely different issue). My money is with the dog and the value.
Does anybody remember who won the democratic primary in Ohio (the state that will decide the race)? That's right, Hillary. Now a woman gets brought onto the McCain ticket at a rally in, uh hum, Ohio. The Republicans may not be approved of in the White House, but they are smart and know how to play dirty when it comes to campaigning.
Not to mention the backlash on the targeted working-class voters by putting down her small, blue-collar town in Alaska. Weren't they the target of the Obama speech last night? They are confused. Simple.
Obama is still the favorite and should still win. Lets just say I WOULD NOT BET AGAINST THE GOP. Campaigning is their forte and they have never showed it better than today.
If your not from a big corrupt city like Chicago or Philly or Baltimore, Liberals hate you. To put out a diss on small towns was really stupid but ju st shows Husseins arrogance. He is the most scary Dem yet to run for Presidentl Makes Dukasis and John Kerry look good. Just imagine being sworn in by that Black Liberation Theogy pastor Wright of his who went to Libya with Obama and slapped Khadafi on the back.
Very interesting pick and once again the Maverick does it his way, and not what is expected. Palin is very likeable but she does come with little experience. Her Popularity in her state is huge and I assume that McCain feels the country will like her just as much. Time will tell. This makes this race even more interesting than it already was...
Looks like swomeone bet REPUBLICANS & doesn't like what is happening...w2w
Exactly the opposite w2w. I did bet REPUBLICAN (still may vote DEM) because the value is there. And I am loving the new revelations. I was planning to place a bet on them if they chose a woman because I believe the value skyrocketed. Would Romney or Polenti have had this much of an impact? Not in my estimation. The value isn't quite there if he chooses a man (especially a white man). Only Colin Powell could have carried more value in this pick. Dirty tactics work...sometimes. Well see.
And Buck, my heritage stems from a small native fishing village. When I heard the reply from the Obama camp to this pick, I felt like they were sticking up their nose at small-town America. Completely contradictory to the speech last night. Just my take.
All that said, Obama would probably be the better president.

mayors of very small towns dont have many issues to deal with
