While TCU is still doing a lot of whining about not getting enough respect, the fact that they currently own the nations longest winning streak at 13 games in a row SU gets the full attention of any opponent, and these Mountain West teams played a wild 51-50 OT game last year that the Horned Frogs won on the road after blowing an 18-point 3rd quarter lead. It is probably hard to believe that the under is the betting angle we like best after that final score from a year ago in a game where TCU entered as a 3-point road dog, but that is the case for this crazily early 3pm PT start on a Thursday in Fort Worth. While TCU opened the season with lightweights UC-Davis and Baylor, they come off an impact 12-3 victory over then ranked Texas Tech. In the process TCU became the first team since 00 to hold the Red Raiders passing dominated offense without a TD. BYU is at 2-2 SU and 3-1 ATS with a couple of tough road losses (16-13 at Arizona and 30-23 in double OT at Boston College), and they comes off of a 38-0 shutout of Utah St. in a scrimmage like game where starting QB John Beck was held out with an ankle injury. While BYU is certainly not known for their defensive prowess, 2nd year HC B.Mendenhall is a proven defensive coach and is the Cougars DC as well. Beck is probable to start this game for the Cougars while impact RB L.Hobbs is also probable to return to the lineup for TCU. Given the lines on this conference opener for both teams the under is where we land on this matchup for 3-units.
