So interested in seeing Gray's 1st start. I faced him and Appel a couple years ago. Was not impressed with Appel, fastball was flat, breaking ball was good, had a great changeup but hardly threw it. Sometimes guys work on things in the summer but it felt like he had no idea what he was trying to do(and we lit him up). I was very impressed with Gray. Stuff was great, was in total control of everything, had an idea what he wanted to do, never got predictable. I try to never look at one game to judge anyone, find someone at the wrong time and they will all look bad, but I didn't think they were even in the same class. Hopefully Coors doesn't take him down because I think he can be really good.
Steve, thanks for the input. I've heard good things about him, but never seen him play and like you said, "Hopefully Coors doesn't take him down" I think he will be okay tomm. If the market moves against that line I will be adding small increments along the way, up to the close.
Thanks OT. FWIW, Hanley and the panda are both in the SL
I thought the Red Sox were going to come out like gang busters after the all star break. Don't ask why I forgot but I bet them for the Division at 7 to 1 At least these two now play 3 hours instead of the usual 4/4.5 hour games.
As for the Yankees Cashman and the brothers doing there bang up job again and it's going to be fun to see the Yankees fighting for the One Game Playoff . Pinade won't pitch in the month of August and is expected back in Sept. Don't hold your breath. Ackley is done for the year and the presure mounts on Tanaka. Somehow I see a Yankee fold. There's no excuse for them not to pick-up a front line pitcher after seeing what toronto was doing.

I completely agree, while I know cash wants to hang onto his top prospects, the Yankees have always been a "win now" team, doing whatever it takes to put the best team they can on the field, and looking at their rotation, and knowing they could have had not just one of the big names, but even a guy like Kazmir or Leake would have helped them. I never thought I'd see the day when the Royals, Astros, and Jays all improved themselves, while the Yankees did absolutely nothing, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Jays catch them. Tanaka, Eovaldi, Nova, and CC don't put any fear into opposing lineups that's for sure, hopefully Pineda comes back, but with his history, I would be worried if I were a Yankee fan

GL Wraps, I typically like taking first time starters, I've got the Red Sox tonight with Henry Owens making his debut
GL, Kane, Hopefully it works out for both of us.

On the other hand the Yankees have the Rep of not doing well the first time they see a pitcher.
