I think the Nuggets are going to struggle scoring for a few reasons. Denver is a team that thrives scoring in the paint with 45 paint points a game, 8th best in the NBA. Washington has been the best team in the NBA this year defending the paint giving up just 35.6 a game. Over their last 3 games, they have given up even less at 28 a game. Washington also ranks in the top 10 of opponent fast break points which is an area Denver does well in. Denver is a pretty good 3 point shooting team and the Wizards are giving up just 34.4% from 3 and less at home at 33.1%. The Wizards currently rank 7th in defensive efficiency at .991 and they are significantly better on defense at home with a rating of .963. Washington's biggest strength on offense this year is their 3 point shooting as they rank 3rd in the NBA at 37.9%. They rank #1 in the NBA in 3 point shooting at home at 39.9%. Denver is in the bottom 10 of 3 point shooting defense giving up 37.9% from 3 on the road. I see the Wizards hitting a good amount of three's tonight at a high rate.
Winning in the NBA in a lot of cases comes down to just figuring out the ebbs and flows of teams through the year. Washington is a team that I had high expectations for coming into the year and I think they are about to go on a upswing here. The return of Bradley Beal has a lot to do with this. He's a all star caliber player and they were winning games without him as it was. His added scoring to the already great Wizards defense puts this team over the top. John Wall over the last two games has done a great job finding his teammates with 13 assists against Miami and 15 assists against the Lakers. Gortat has double-doubled in 5 of the last 6 games. Nene has been hurt but Kris Humphries, Drew Gooden and Kevin Serafin have filled the void very nicely. Humphries is coming off a 20 rebound game. Gooden/Serafin have come in off bench and rebounded/shot a high percentage. Pierce is starting at the SF spot and he has done a decent job scoring at times and is still a pretty solid defender. Pierce is quick to get on his younger teammates when they are being lethargic which is something this team needed. Rasual Butler backs up Pierce and he has been on fire lately shooting 61% from 3 the last 5 games while averaging 14ppg. It just seems that the Wizards are really coming together well right now.
The Wizards have been very good at home this year going 8-2 with a +6.8 margin. Denver is not the same team at home as they are on a road. They have a +3.8 scoring margin at home but a -3.8 margin on the road. That's a -7.6 swing from home to road. The Nuggets have just always been a poor road team. They are 3-6 against the spread on the road so far with two of the wins coming to the lowly Lakers and Pacers. I see the Wizards winning this game by around 7-10 points.
Wizards win by 30 points, 119-89.

Thanks, appreciate the kind words.
It seems about the same as before he came back. He's never been a good defender. Horford had 18-8. Jonas didn't do much against him. He's out there for his scoring/rebounding and he's been great doing that lately shooting 53% with 16ppg/11rpg in 3 games back. C Derrick Favors is coming off an ankle injury and was just 3-8 from the field in his 1st game back. Doesn't seem like he's 100% which should help Vucevic in the matchup.
