Corvette, ask and you shall receive. Here's Chris Ado's Picks ENjoy!

Today’s Action from Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park: I will highlight and
play races 7, 9, and 10 from Gulfstream Park. In addition, I will also
highlight and play races 3 and 4 from Santa Anita.
    (3) CAN THIS BE TRUE (Gulfstream Park Race 7): Must deal with the plethora
of early speed drawn directly to his outside but this colt by Yes It’s
True is gradually improving in each start and is a lot better than his
neck margin of victory on New Year’s Day at Santa Anita or his five length
defeat in his debut on December 9 over Hollywood Park’s Cushion Track. He
received plenty of support in his debut going off as the 5-1 third choice
in the field of twelve and found himself part of a three horse battle for
the early lead while pinned along the inside through fractions of 21.93
and 44.29 seconds. He continued contesting the pace inside all the way to
mid stretch before gradually giving way to weaken to finish eighth in a
race that saw the runner-up returned to win on December 26 and then run
second in the G2 San Rafael. This race is a lot better than it appears as
he dueled inside displaying speed versus a main track strongly facing
outside closers-stalkers and his opening quarter and half mile fractions
that he set or pressed were the second fastest and fastest respectively
from the six sprints on that card. He made his first start over Santa
Anita’s main track on New Year’s Day and showed the ability to handle pace
pressure through wicked fractions and provide enough gameness to fend off
    a late challenge.
He prompted the early pace outside of long shot Bad Bay as those two
reeled off fractions of 21.58 and 44.60 with the 4-5 favorite Painted
Shadow stalking that pair in third, the garden spot. This Florida bred
continued contesting the pace before Painted Shadow ranged up to challenge
this bay colt, opened up, and refuse to allow the favorite to get by
earning the third highest last race Beyer Speed Figure of 91. His opening
half mile was the second fastest of the five sprints on the card only
behind Proud Tower Too’s 44.05 half mile in the G3 El Conejo later on the
card and his victory looks better when you consider his pace rival, Bad
Boy, weakened badly to finish ninth. He has bounced back with three more
works in the interim including a five furlongs work out in 1:01 2.5 which
National Turf John Wilson explained this “Nice looker breezed smoothly
here in 35.1, 101.0. Has upside.” Can take on the expected early speed,
dished them out midway on the turn, and have plenty of left to fend off
the late challenges as he is a juicy 15-1 on the morning line with Mark
    Guidry taking the call.
    Wagering Strategies:
Play the (3) CAN THIS BE TRUE to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 8-1 or better)
Main Exactas: 3-2, 3-7, 3-14. Small reverse for each.
    (6) MAY NIGHT (Gulfstream Park Race 9): Is still eligible for Allowance
N1X but she has been able to race competitively over her conditions while
not being able to visit the winner circle in ten starts as a three year
    old.
However, she is not as bad as her four most recent starts would indicate
and with a switch to jockey Garrett Gomez with plenty of pace drawn
directly to her inside she can still back and make that patent one last
run. After closing with a rush to just miss the Virginia Oaks by a nose at
Colonial Downs, she shipped to Del Mar for the G1 Del Mar Oaks where she
was taken far back off the measured early pace established by long shot
Meet Me in the Woods, saved every inch of ground throughout, cut the
corner into the stretch, and simply was out kicked to split her field
behind Arravale who would return to run second in the G2 The Canadian and
    then win the G1 E.P.
Taylor in her last start. She shipped to Belmont Park for the G1 Garden
City B.C. Handicap in her next start and lost all chance at the start. She
was difficult to settle and rank in the gate prior to the start, broke
poorly while racing inside, and was eased through the stretch meaning her
margin of defeat is inconclusive. She received lasix for the first time on
October 20 over Keeneland’s Poly Track and it resulted in an improved
effort finishing third after prompting the early pace, taking over the
lead at mid stretch, and losing the lead late behind Precious Kitten who
would returned in her next start to win the G2 Mrs Revere Stakes at
Churchill Downs but it was this Gulch filly who ran the better race when
you consider her length and three quarter length margin of defeat does not
take into account the amount of ground she lost throughout. Forced to
break from post position nine in a eleven field, she raced four wide
around the first turn and was unable to get over to save ground into and
down the backstretch racing four to five wide down the backstretch.
Continuing to race wide into and through the far turn, she commence a
menacing move to challenge only to rightfully flattened out to lose by
less than two lengths in a better than looked attempt. She has returned
with four solid work outs over the Palm Meadows Training Facility and this
mile and an eighth trip should not pose a problem as she was beaten only a
nose at this trip. Jockey Garrett Gomez can drop this filly over to the
inside with Bayou’s Lassie and How About Right Now with Formal Miss all in
close attendance to what figures to be a brisk early pace and mow them all
down as her 6-1 morning line can either hold or be inflated creating a
juicy over lay opportunity in the making.
    Wagering Strategies:
Play the (6) MAY NIGHT to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 6-1 or better) Main
Exactas: 6-2, 6-11, and 6-12. Small reverse for each.
    (9) TEXCESS (Gulfstream Park Race 10): Has been specifically pointed for
this race ever since emerging victories in the California Cup Classic in
which he scored his victory in his past seventeen starts. This multiple
Graded Stakes gelding by In Excess has had some major excuses in his two
most recent starts over a fast main track After winning the early battle
only to lose the war to the favorite Magnum in the G3 Lone Star Park
Handicap over a muddy surface he returned to a fast main track in the G2
San Diego Handicap and had a brutal trip. With two speed horses drawn
directly inside of him, he was forced into a compromising trip of racing
three wide outside of his two pace rivals through brisk early fractions of
46.01 seconds for the half mile and six furlongs in 1:09.85 seconds which
were more than a second faster at each call than the other route race on
the program. He continued to race wide through the far turn before being
forced to steady while tiring at the top of stretch as he was moved up to
fourth because of that incident with Papi Chullo in a race won by the dead
closer Giacomo. After another unsuccessful attempt over the turf, he
returned to the main track in the G3 Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate
where he was hammered to the 8-5 second choice and whatever chance he had
was lost at the start when he stumbled badly leaving the gate. He returned
from almost a two month layoff in the California Cup Classic on October 28
and overcame a wide journey to score the hard earned victory from pace
setter Cheroot earning the field’s second highest last race Beyer Speed
Figure of 103 in which the subsequent efforts of horses behind him have
validated that figure to be strong. He raced four wide into the first turn
and was able to get over a little bit into and down the backstretch while
    three wide into the backside.
He was never able to get over to the inside continuing to commence a three
wide move around the far turn to take on the pace setter and gradually
worn that rival down under strong handling from Victor Espinoza. This
strength of his victory was validated when the runner up Cheroot returned
to win the $100,000 On Trust Handicap at Hollywood Park in his next start,
fifth place finisher Top This and That returned to win Allowance N3X in
his next start, and the eighth place finisher American All Star came back
to win $40,000 claiming event at Hollywood Park in what is described as a
truly productive “key” race. He has bounced back to work sensationally
over Hollywood Park’s Cushion Track to prepare him for this event as
National Turf’s Andy Harrington has commented “Has really looked sharp of
    late, especially the
1/21 and 1/10 drills. Should run his best.” He has enough tactical speed
to be forwardly placed in what projects to be a brisk early pace with
Blazing Rate prompting Get Funky from the outset with McCann’s Mojave
position close to the pace and favored Sweet Northern Saint being hustled
from his outside post to be in close attendance. Jockey Garrett Gomez is a
fine replacement as this Mike Mitchell trainee is primed to run his best
race thus far as my BEST BET on the Sunshine Millions program.
    Wagering Strategies:
Play the (9) TEXCESS to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 5-2 or better) Play the
    (2) GET FUNKY to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 10-1 or better) Trifecta
    part-wheel: 9 over 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 over 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 = $20 for a
    $1 Wager
    Trifecta part-wheel: 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 over 9 over 1, 2, 3, 11, 12 = $20 for
    a
    $1 Wager
    (12) SOMETHINGABOUTLAURA (Santa Anita Race 3):The hope is that Get Back
Time is gunned from the inside to go for the lead with Purrfectly Fitting
and Bit of Folly all pressing the morning line favorite Take D’ Tour
setting this race perfectly for Somethingaboutlaura who stretches back out
to mile and a sixteenth a distance where this California bred Dance Floor
mare won her two previous tries at this distance by a combined eight and a
half lengths. She won the California Cup Matron on October 28 here at
Santa Anita earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 89 which is not indicative of
this mare’s true ability as she was not fully extended to win that event.
She sat third in a tough spot while racing inside early, bided her time
patiently behind dueling leaders on the far turn, was maneuvered three
wide outside of the dueling pair approaching the quarter, swept past them
to inherit the lead at the top of the stretch, and dominated to win by
four lengths while ridden out towards the wire. She returned next in the
Autumn Leaves Handicap at Bay Meadows in her next start and cruised to
what amounted to a paid work out.
She bided her time in second sitting just off the 20-1 pacesetter Breeze
Along through the first half mile in 46.24 seconds. She moved up to
inherit the lead from the exhausted leader approaching the quarter pole to
crush her overmatched rivals earning another sub par Beyer Speed Figure of
89 which is not a true measure of this fillies ability as she did not
fully exert herself.. She shorten up to six and half furlongs in the
Kalookan Queen on December 28 in a race designed strictly as a prep for
this event and got exactly that earning the third highest last race Beyer
Speed Figure of 99 as she ran her race only to be second best. She sat the
garden trip sitting in fourth along the rail stalking the pacesetter
Indian Flare early. She moved up along the rail on the far turn before
easing out into the two path to take on the winner and was second best to
lose by a half length as the beaten favorite. The validity of that figure
was confirmed when the third place finisher, River Savage, returned to
take the Pasana Stakes. This Dance Floor mare has bounced back with four
more works to indicate she has held her form and though drawn towards the
outside, she will be allowed to patiently bide her time as Take D’ Tour
must fend off the early pace pressure from her pace rivals and if she
weakens from that duel than will be this Jerry Hollendorfer trainee that
will be the main beneficiary to give the expected post time favorite all
    she can handle.
    Wagering Strategies
Play the (12) SOMETHINGABOUTLAURA to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 5-2 or
    better)
    Trifecta part-wheel: 12 over 1, 3, 4, 5, 13 over 1, 3, 4, 5, 13 Trifecta
    part-wheel: 1, 3, 4, 5, 13 over 12 over 1, 3, 4, 5, 13
    (2) MACH RIDE (Santa Anita Race 4):Is a horse that has had his share of
excuses that have prevented him from displaying his true ability but when
he is on his game and does not get into any serious trouble this Florida
bred grand son of Fappino can deliver a career best performance at what
should be a square price. He ran a solid second in the G2 Carry Back on
Summit of Speed program at Calder on July 25 where his early speed and
winning the battle only to lose the war was hampered by a main track
strongly favoring outside stalkers and closers. He showed biding early
speed with his pace rival Laptop Computer through an opening quarter in
21.55 seconds and received more pressure when the eventual winner and post
time favorite Too Much Bling ranged up three wide to challenge through a
    half mile in a wicked
44.17 seconds. After disposing of Laptop Computer at the top of the
stretch, he battled on bravely all the way through the stretch to simply
be second best beaten only two lengths earning a career best Beyer Speed
Figure of 103 in which he was best. The early fractions he set were the
fastest of any sprint on that program and he did it over anti inside speed
bias making his effort look all the better for this home bred. He was sent
off as the fourth choice in the G1 King’s Bishop at seven furlongs at
Saratoga but while praise was being made for the winner’s visually
impressive performance little was made about the trouble that this colt
overcome to finish fourth beaten only length and three quarters for
second. He stumbled badly immediately after the start, then had to steady
in traffic when attempting to rally from near the rear of the pack
entering the stretch of the seven-furlong King's Bishop. He came back in
the G3 Perryville over Keeneland’s Poly Track and showed excellent early
speed to battle for the lead all the way to mid way on the far turn before
tiring over a main track strongly favoring closers and stalkers in a race
which saw Sailors Sunset returned to win his next two starts Saguaro
Stakes at Turf Paradise and Vernon Underwood at Hollywood Park and Latent
Heat returned to win the G1 Malibu. He returned from a brief freshening in
the G3 Mr. Prospector in a race designed as a prep for this event and
received a good prep race in what should set him up perfectly for this
event. He raced in a uncomfortable spot down the backstretch racing
between horses early, angled towards the outside into the stretch, angled
back, and lost second. Drawn in post position two with his main two rivals
both inheriting one dimensional need the lead type that can hamper the
chances of both horses, Mach Ride can sit the perfect ground saving stalk
and leave trip to get the jump on closers such as Are You Talking to Me
and Debonair Joe in a race where the two newly turned four years old have
a big chance to spring the upset.
    Wagering Strategies:
Play the (2) MACH RIDE to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 8-1 or better) Play
the (9) SMOKEY STOVER to WIN (Minimum fair odds of 6-1 or better) Main
    Exactas: 2-1, 2-6, 2-7, 2-9. Small reverse for each.

no problem, I could hear the panic in Corvette's post, so I wanted to ease his fears. He might flip out and throw his money on some donkey. Just wanna make sure hes throwing his bets on the right pony.

Guess I should have just played and posted his pick of the day instead
of the Sunshine Millions Picks. His play of the day was race 4 at
Gulfstream and exacta hit 4 times for $22.80. Yet I just found out this
info now and along with everyone else only played the sunshine millions
and lost each race....what can I say?
