Adding two more for Saturday ...

I don't think there any other games I am forgetting. But you never know
when something is going to make more and more sense.

Michigan over $$$San Diego State$$$ by 10 - Talk about a classic sandwich
game. And this is the worst kind - the big favorite enters off a bad loss
and has an important game on deck. Michigan is going from losing to rival
Notre Dame to playing San Diego State with a big revenge game on-deck and
its Big 10 opener next week against Iowa. So what gets the Wolverines
pumped up against SDSU? I can't come up with it. And even if they were
"pumped" I still think the Aztecs defense is going to cause major problems
for a Wolverines offense that didn't do much against Miami and did nothing
against ND. I don't see how they improve against another good defense from
a team that they're expected to beat anyway. The QB, RB and OLine
situations are bad enough right now to assume the struggles continue.
Don't underestimate how much last year's close call at Ohio State means
to SDSU one year later. The Aztecs are a veteran team and the memory of
that performance should have them thinking they can complete. SDSU won't
be in awe and RB Hamilton should be ready to go in this one. This game
looks like a boring, non-sexy trouble that will fall well below the
expected spread.

$$$USC$$$ over BYU by 40 - This is a heavy number, but we all saw last
week that the Trojans second team is capable of maintaining or extending
leads. A limited travel roster means good things for those of laying
points. I don't think Carroll or Chow feel the offense is humming yet and
road experience is going to be crucial. This means the dogs won't be
called off at all and the young receivers are still going to be seeing
balls come their way long after the straight up result is decided. Even if
you expect a so-so effort from Trojan offense, there is no telling how bad
the defense is going to make BYU look. The Cougars QB situation keeps
getting worse and they aren't going to run the ball at all against USC.
Passing from behind is where BYU will find itself for most of the second
half and that should mean more mistakes like the Stanford game. Trojans
defense might outscore the Cougars offense. That's no joke. The Trojans
will be look to make a statement on the road.
