Another tough Thursday. Usually lots of upsets on Thursday. Yesterday I
went 2-0 with an easy Under in the Pitts./Wash game and then another easy
win in the Oakland game. Puts my week at 4-2,last 16 days at 24-13-1 and
YTD at 91-53-3.
Today I love Pedro over the Phillies. All the stat's back this pick up
and even at -215 I can find nothing wrong with this pick. I'm not against
paying this much if I see the game as a strong pick, but, I'm the first to
get off if they have say the Twins and Radke or Silva at -200 and the
Twins have the same Win Loss record as KC over the past 30 days. Really
makes me wonder sometimes what the bookies look at in setting their odds.
Seems like it's all about picking a point they get even money on both
sides and not about the teams.
Tonight I love Oak. once again as Haren is pitching real well and Oak. has
won his last 6 starts. Meche is doing well also but is only so so on the
road. This will give Oak. a 3 game sweep of Seattle so that's a
negative. Also, beware of the fact that Haren just faced the Mariners and
it's Meche first game this year versus the Athletics. Still like Oak. as
they are very hot right now. Oak. leads all the teams in the Majors over
the past 5 games in runs scored at 8 per game.
Like the White Sox but will not bet on a sweep at Detroit as they aren't
playing all that great right now. Garcia's numbers are fine but Maroth
has pitched some good games lately but is better on the road than at
home. I'll watch this one.
Clev./Balt. looks like a tossup to me.
May jump on St. Louis also if I win my early picks but Suppan is the guy
they lose with of their starters. Colo. on the road isn't much though so
