never been a suppan fan at all but will play the numbers here...sup has
struggled at times but with the exception of his first home start of the
year vs. philly....he has been very nice at home...especially the last six
home starts where he has gone 5-0 with a 2.77 era...and the last two were
very nice and one of those was against the red sox whom he held to six
hits in six innings...may not get many innings from sup as he is only
averaging 5.2 inn per start..but once again that card pen that gets no
respect is rocking along with an era of 3.04 and has converted 30 of 35
save opps....also like the fact that what "pop" the rox do have in the
lineup...haupe, helton, wilson and atkins...they have combined to go 2-20
vs. suppan...suppan has also been better at night 6-3 3.10 era as opposed
to the day 1-3 6.51 era...
on the other side francis has been that weird stat for the rocks as he has
been awesome at coors..and awful on the road... 5-1 at coors with 3.50 era
and 1-4 on the highway with 7.21 era.....go figure...
for the bats the cards have been nailing the longball this homestand....16
homers in these 6 home games and 33 in the month of june...
francis has also struggled vs. the righty and the cards have 8 righties in
the lineup tonight with edmonds being the lefty....not exactly a pushover
there...
will keep this in mind....in case rox win tonight...course hope they lose
by two or more....
but rox have not won one series on the highway this year...so don't think
they will sweep the cards here.....
