WAS--Nats formula today was what they've been winning with all
along--great starting pitching, smart-solid defense, and timely hitting.

First, Levan H pitched a great game. Getting ahead on batters by using
the outside corner with fastballs, then coming back with a splitter/cutter
that was baffling Cub hitters all day. He is definitely an all-star
caliber pitcher this year, now winning his 11th in a row. Second, they
have solid Frank Robinson-esque defense. Castilla at third made 6 easy
putouts by perfect positioning and execution. Third, Nats put up no
crooked runs and won 4-3. Walk here, bleeder there, sac hit and another
run scores. Great little ball formula.

Cubs--First, Patterson sucks and should not be a leadoff hitter. He
struck out THREE FUCKING TIMES LOOKING--hey Dusty--get a fucking clue--put
him 7th behind the Cubs Hollywood Stunt Dummy, Todd Hollandsworth. By
putting Patterson first in the lineup, then having him fail time and
again, gives the rest of the Cubs the idea that merit(how well you
actually are playing) pays no part in his decision making.

The second thought about the Cubs was Prior. He, similar to Wood, seem to
have this good game, bad game syndrome more often than not. Today he had
no command of his breaking pitch until the third inning, when he began to
settle down. Nevertheless, by then his pitch count was up and the Cubs
were chasing too many runs to mount an effective comeback versus someone
of such quality as Hernandez.

Third, how does someone like Jeremy Burnitz get picked off at thrid base,
representing the tying run with one out in the 8th inning. Unbelievable in
the big leagues. That is little league shit if you ask me. Hey Chris
Speier(3rd base coach) if you said a little more to Bernitz like "get back
to the base you dumbass", Bernitz would have never been picked off and
the outcome might have been different.

Overall--nothing beats fun at the ole ballpark. Next game up on the
agenda, 8/11 when the Redbirds come into town for the first time this year
to play a four game series with the Cubbies. Should be great.
