Seahawks Talk

I have been hearing a lot lately why the Seahawks signed hasslebeck to a
long term contract but not Alexander. There is reasonable evidence to say
they should have signed Alexander to a long term deal as well. He had an
outstanding year and has been very consistant. Here is the issue at
hand. Holmgreen is the coach. No quarterback ever figures his system out
in 1 or 2 years. Hasslebeck did have an off year but what stands out is
how hard it would be to find an immediate replacement for him. If they
lost him they would most definitely be out of the playoffs for 1 or 2
years and would be considered rebuilidng. Alexander may be great but is
probably the easiest to replace with talent so high as RB's are right
now. Several rookies were out there that could easily take his place in
years to come. That is exactly why nobody would trade for him. There
isn't good market value for him today. He is also getting older in
today's standard for Running Backs.
