Monday, July 18, 2005,
MLB Record 66-52-1
( Last Post:::: Sunday, July 17,::::1-0, Cubs/Zambrano=W )
_________________________________
At 710pm cdt:
#908 StL/Morris (-220) hosting Milw/Santos,
----StL appears to be one of the better behaved teams on the week-ends, as
they show up to play on Mondays with a sparkling 8-1 record on
Mondays...Milw has a 5-6 record on Mondays
....StL is 30-16 at home, StL is 5-1 vs Milw this season.
----Morris (10-2, 3.10 era, in 16 starts,whip 1.07),..Milw current players
batting avg against him only .198 in 101 at bats, on base percentage a low
.250..Career vs Milw 10-4, 3.14 era, but has not faced them this year, at
home Morris is 4-1, 3.12 era, in 8 starts..he seldom gives up a home run
indicating he's on top of his game this yr
----Santos (2-9, 3.50 era, in 17 starts & 1 relief, whip 1.35), StL
batting avg against him .265 in 98 at bats with an on base percentage of
.365...career vs StL he is 1-2, 3.21 era..He has faced StL twice this yr,
4.50 era--again demostrating his "Jekyl ad Hyde" at Home threw 8 inn
allowing 1 erun in a 2-3 loss, but "on the road", a couple weeks later,on
the road, where he is awful, at StL he threw 4 inn 7 hits and 5 eruns in a
3-6 loss.. On the Road Santos is 1-6, 3.65 era, in 10 starts, so what is
his problem, for one thing he walks too many batters, and while he is not
in the home run "danger zone" he flirts with it giving up a home run of 1
in just over each 7 innings..walks/home runs-a dangerous combo.
----Both bullpens are capable..
----This appears to be another true 2-1 game, though I thought the
Cubs, who won yesterday were a little better play
----
Pick: StL/Morris (-220)
----
Good Luck to All
