If that happens and I hope It doesn't they really need to do something about it. It happen twice I believe this year and I can't remember that happening before. It may have but I can't remember. If it becomes like standard practice it's like getting free rolled. -49 favorite you know it's going to be a blow out it's just a matter of by how many and how soon. It's maybe an over reaction but if it happens again it's crazy to play games like that.

    not gonna happen today
alcorn state just fumbled at the 1 right before the half 24-7
i will root for them to crush state the 2nd half since a "free roll" shouldn't be

Agree Predator watching the game myself. Ark had 3rd and 4th down short yardage and could not even make first down. They really look pretty mediocre against a much inferior team. Even letting Alcorn State move the ball against them. Arkansas plays Alabama next week. Could get ugly if they play this way against Bama

Sportsbooks need to change their rules on these shortened games. No way should a team covering the spread by 30 pts ever be graded no action. Last year I got screwed on this a couple of times. That Boston College game against Howard where they won 76-0 was also graded no action. Its always these MEAC teams begging for the game to be shortened.

These schools are getting a lot of money to come in and play. They should deduct 1/6th of the check for shortening the game 10 minutes.

I have always been against playing these 10 minute quarters-- the other, better option is to play with a running clock. Besides us bettors, the people getting screwed by this are the kids sitting on the end of the bench-- they show up every day at practice and play for the love of the game-- don't screw them out of a chance at some decent playing time.

    7. Mercy Rule, if for any reason both teams involved in the game decide to lower the playing time the game still has ACTION regardless of whether it goes a full 55 minutes or not. In any case where it is unclear if the Mercy Rule was invoked management will make a judgment call which will be considered final.
Example: At halftime Team A leads Team B 52-0 so the coaches agree to play 8 minute quarters in the 3rd and 4th. Even though this game will only be 46 minutes in length it still has action due to the fact that it was shortened by use of the MERCY RULE.
