NCAA Basketball Power Ratings (February 18, 2014)

Not trying to flood the forum with power ratings, but I went back to the drawing board with my numbers and adjusted for last weekend's games. I'm always looking for feedback and comments from sharp opinions so feel free to let me know what you think of these ratings. I know a lot of people have Louisville at the top of their list, but it's tough for me to put them there considering the weak SOS. Here is my top 50...

P.S. That Villanova-Providence line looks way too high to me. Yes, Nova is coming off a loss in which they gave up 100+ points, but this is their second straight road game (2nd game in 3 nights). They beat Providence by 30 in the Pavilion about a month and a half ago and that spread was 12. Talk about an over adjustment. Providence hasn't been playing particularly well as of late, but they have been a solid home team throughout the season. I would have made the game Nova -3 at the most.

I actually like Providence, but Villanova -12 at home to Villanova -5 on the road isn't an adjustment. That's just accounting for home court advantage. Maybe I'm missing something here.

Personally I have the cards at the top of my ratings fwiw.

Don't put to much weight into the 2nd in 3days thing , it doesn't matter much. These kids have been playing ball all day everyday in every park across these united states since they were able to dribble a basketball , just look back at the big east tournament and see what the teams did when they had to play four games straight. Just my opinion. Personally I don't weight it at all. My line on that vill/prov game is vill -4
