RAS in Vegas

Hey fellas, I am going to Las Vegas this weekend and was curious to know how the sportsbooks there handle RAS releases.
Do you know if getting the release numbers is possible if you're standing at the book when the plays come out? Is it okay if I'm standing there with my smartphone in my hand waiting for the play? I've heard that some books won't let you use cell phones.
Thanks in advance.

Sit, have a drink, then attack
Las Vegas did away with the "No cell phone use in sportsbook" rule a few years ago...
Still looking for tix and a hotel... Haven't chosen a weekend yet, but if I am there on those dates, we will definitely hook up Okie.
Hope all is well!

Got crickets in another thread, guessing no one at BT bets these much...
Thanks for the detailed response OT. So if I'm gathering what you're saying correctly, I can stand back away from the counter, get the play on my cell and then make the bet. I'm not really as concerned about making the wager as I am getting the release number. Sorry for the ignorance but what do you mean by "move on air?" Are the books going to move the line as fast as an offshore like BookMaker does or is there more like a 30-second window to get the release number?
This year has been absurd in how quick all the books are savvy to RAS.
All his pushes are losses for us and most 1 point games are losses.
Last year we had a shot as he was very hot and the plays won with a margin, but this year the plays are all to sharp by the book.
Look at last night, San Jose was -6. RAS pushes and the only way to get a push was to lay 150! Not cost effective.
Thanks for the responses all, good luck.
Yes, The sports book manager will sit in back monitoring all action in town and off-shore and move a number without taking a $1 on it. You could hang out off to the side where the sheets are or against the wall depending were you are. you just can't be at the counter making a bet talking on a cell phone. It was a stupid policy but when cell phones first came out only god knows what they thought was going to happen. To answer the bookmaker time question that depends on the book some you may get a little longer.
On the other hand if you play table games you can't keep your cell on the table and some places will make you get up if you receive a call. I always told my managers and supervisor's if a player gets a call give him a sec or two it could be his wife asking where are you it could be his host don't go flying across the table telling a guest you can't do that here. So if your playing table games and get a call it's best to make it quick it's rude to the other guests. Don't sweat the BS have a great time it's the best time of the year better then the super bowl with all it's parties.
Make sure you get a players card if you play table games or slots and before checking out ask to see the host on duty and see if they could do anything for your play. Let me know where your staying. May I ask is this your first trip it will be a trip to remember.
Get on line before the release play hits your phone and then take a peak at the phone without bring the phone up towards the counter. Worst case they said no cell phones at the counter.
Say no Problem didn't know and move on.
Playing golf at Primm Valley on the way up, which we are stoked about. Probably not going to get to the hotel until 3 p.m. or so so we'll only catch the end of the Saints-Seahawks game. Chose this weekend because in my opinion, it's the best football has to offer. Although this year it might be hard to live up to the excitement of Wild Card Weekend football-wise.
If you are around and available on Saturday or Sunday OT please stop by, drinks are on me
It would surprise me if there were even offered. If so $500.
Excellent sports book, good choice. Thanks for invite I might take you up on that.
It's sad but many of the casino's don't put them up. If if you find one I would think $500 would be it. Vegas is a gaming town not a gambling town anymore. I would try the M but I'm not sure. Where I live I need to pack a lunch to get there. I'm looking at a few of the bigger casino's in town now and they have a few up but not many and they put them up very late.
Thanks. According to VegasInsider, they are offered for quite a few games. When I called to ask, the operator told me they don't have a phone line to the sportsbook. So I asked her if she could just tell me over the phone, and she said "we don't do that." Lol, okay.
There are none showing on sports options (LVH, WWill, MIrage, SPoint, Caesars, Stations). Cantor doesn't publish but it would suprise me greatly if they posted something pinny didnt have.
I have Cantor up and they have the same as the others. It's a cookie cutter town.
What happen was this guy was a supervisor with another casino can't remember which one but stole 30k and put it on Detroit Lions -7 and if they won put the money back and everything would b good. So the Lions have the ball and they need a first down to run the clock out winning by 4 I don't Remember if it was a pass or run but the Detroit guy got stop on the one yard line and Rodney King took 3 knees and the game landed on 4 so the guy told the sports book manager I think it was Jimmy V. and said I'm going to blow my brains out.
When swat got there is was surreal and on the mega phone they told him if you lift the gun from your knee we will shoot you after about two hours he gave up and business as usual. Well there was business going while this was happening at the other end of the casino
I have so many stories that you'll laugh.
I was at treasure island from 2000 till Ruffin bought it and was there for all 3 cage Robberies where at one of them a guard was shot in the back. All by the same guy. They finally put bars up on the cage.
I have better stuff that I seen I could write a book. I should write a book just for myself for when I'm gone. Benny has a real life book that's about him which is well written and should write a book about the escapades of a lone gambler.
Quickly another story better told in person at the Bellagio a sports book supervisor took a 100k cash and walk to the cage and put in on deposit go to a baccarat table played until hopefully he won a few thousand cashed out put the money back and kept the winnings. There's more because about after a week or so he went broke but to me the best part is nobody recognized him. that he worked there.
I'm on my phone so please excuse my spelling or Grammer if it's off its usually off anyway.
Talk tto you soon and would like to meet you for a drink and a game .
Good Luck
Holy shit okie.....how do you survive that length of trip? I go for 72 hours and I am a complete mess for the next week solid.....
