For whatever reason Fox didn't trust Manning. Like Burger pointed out, one first down and the game is over, instead run, punt, and watch your defense fall apart. Even at the end of the game, ball on their own 20, about 30 secs left, and you have Manning take a knee. At that altitude, 35-40 yds gives you a chance at a FG.
You have to allow Manning to throw on 3rd and 5 at the Ravens 45 at 2 minute warning.
One successful completion and the Broncos move on.
