Bowl Game Dates?

Did something change with the bowl dates this year? I used to remember seeing bowl games for like 30 straight days. Not so this year.

Even worse no games on New years day? When did that start?

    After last year, I was hoping they would cancel them completely.

    Every time that New Year's Day is a Sunday, college leaves it for the NFL and doesn't have any games (playing the traditional "New Year's Day" games on the 2nd).

    Won't have to worry about this until 2017! Last time Jan 1 was a Sunday was 2006 and before that was 1995.
