What was the math. terminology that negates the so-called "hot" or "cold" streaks?

    Just like in Roulette, red will come up 4 times in a row pretty often, doesnt mean that red is +EV on the next spin.

    I thought there were two words for the most accurate description. My previous "thank you" was a courtesy.

    Ummm... nothing else is really coming to mind, sorry. There are other terms that deal with this issue, but variance would be the word I'd use for the overall topic.

    Random distribution? Regression to the mean?
