Automated wagering

I'm building a macro to help me manage 5 online books to compare odds more easily, dropping the odds into a spreadsheet when I click a button or in the background every 5 minutes throughout the day. It occurs to me that it probably isn't that much harder to place a wager using a single click in my spreadsheet. Perhaps then querying for a second click if the line has moved.

Has anyone built a tool to automate bets? Interested in any pitfalls.

We tried doing something like this with poor results. Supposedly there are a group of BM's banded together on something similar to a Don Best screen. However, their prices don't show up on any odds screen. Maybe it's something similar to a dark web? Anyway, the computer was supposed to examine all of these BM prices and give us our required order fills. The technology may have been sound. However, we were given horrible fills with regard to both price and quantity. Thus, after 3-days I said forget it. This is all over my head as I had no idea something like this even existed.
