You might want to be a bit more specific so others can better help you.
What exactly are you looking for? Best rules for advantage play? Best comps? Best for low/high limits? Best atmosphere?
The place I enjoyed the most was SLS, I think it's the former Sahara. It's pretty close to the Hilton Grand Vacation Club and boy is that place awesome. I found some $10 and $25 tables and the scenery made me happy I had a blackjack table over top of my lap
Good Luck wherever you go, cheaper tables on Fremont for sure.
I haven't been to Vegas in like 7-10 years, but I think you're referring to O'Sheas.
I knew it was an Irish joint, thanks.
I've posted about it at some point, but I actually got my start counting cards back in the day before turning to sports and given that I had virutally no BR at the time, I was very familiar with the low limit BJ joints in the early 2000's.
My personal favorite back then was Casino Royale. Good center strip location for being one step above a total dump, great DD game with $5 min, and their comp system earned you $ that could be used at the Subway inside their entrance, lol. Free foot long > $5 foot long. They even sent me 2 free room nights every month for a while.
Anyway, didn't mean to semi-hijack the thread. Hopefully others can give Deano some suggestions.
Favorite, also is Casino Royale
A Dive but fun
Started Blackjack Switch
PSS - Comps are not like they were in the old days; don't be misled by comps
Nice Place:rolleyes:
This is a good question and I'm certain OT will be able to answer it for you. Last time I was out in January I was playing $25 hands at SLS for 4 hours and I got comped some free dinner stuff for the restaurant that's attached to the sportsbook. Seems like anymore their going away from giving rooms away.
Use a card but play is rated based on Avg bet and 4 hours played. Of course their are exceptions when your betting $1000's. Casino's will compete for business it's been a buyers market for years now but maybe I shouldn't say this because I don't know you but I'm talking very high 6 figures to 7 figures and not just bringing it in you need to play to it. You could bring 10k in put it on deposit but if you don't play to it your not getting anything. Besides the fact these are the best 3 months of the year for the casino's Jan,Feb and March with most high limit events taking place, Super Bowl, Chinese New Years March Madness Etc: Make sure you use your card and if you intend on doing a lot of gambling time wise don't pre-paid your room through a travel agency because once you do that the casino can't do anything by way of comping a night or two.
They will usually make it up in food comps or shows. To educate you on Las Vegas right now would take all day typing . Just use your card every time make sure the Supervisor has you down and don't be afraid to ask before you leave what do you have me down for Avg bet and time wise. Lots of lazy workers and the guest pays because their play doesn't get enter into the computer right. Like I said just play at your level use the card and get what you can get. Don't get buried trying to get a free dinner.
If your planning on playing black chips from jump ask for a host when you arrive and talk to him telling him your plans and what is the criteria for comps here. Black chips is really not much but a host will talk to you at the Nugget and other decent Casino's even with a $50 avg ask for a host sometimes you get lucky and a host may see a future guest that he would like on his sheet and give you a little extra the first time or two. but please don't argue because unless your big the Corps have tied there hands in most case's.
Depending on what type of restaurant and how many people I would rather comp you a decent meal then a room. it cost about $59 a day expense for a room the rest is profit. A good floor supervisor will always try to give you something. If you ask for the Moon I'll counter with a star and that's most likely what you were looking for anyway. Players know what they can get but take a shot. I can't tell how many people have asked me for the fine dining restaurant and were trilled when I gave them the buffet or coffee shop with a limit. It's funny I use to play the part and after telling them I can't do that but I can make a nice reservation for the buffet and what time would you like to go. They feel good and they got the greatest gift of all "Free" just eat all you can eat and sign.
I've been retired almost 3 years now so I'm sure some things have changed and I think some casino's are going more towards the limit. If you want to go to a fine dining restaurant they may give you $50 towards the bill so you went where you wanted to go and they gave you what you were entitled to. Win/Win
God, you were good at that. Diplomatic with all the players, even the sleaze bag 'ratholers'. We always tried to hustle the pit 'sups' for comps. We'd get a good game going and everyone became familiar with each other. When the shift change came I'd mention rather loudly, "they don't give away comps here let's ALL go next door after the roll." Most pit guys would bite. Not OT though........NY sharp.
Any Rookies out there that want to learn what to look for in a BJ game I have classes every Tuesday $100 per hour with a min 5 classes.
I'm don't now with the casino talk unless it's old time stories.
Remember Jets I go way back so I could be wrong and they cleaned up a bit but still Rhino is the best but getting back to the Gulch I remember when they first opened it used to be a slot joint and the girls were bad I mean real bad. But like I said many years ago and that rep stood for a while and then I was gone so other guys such as yourself would know better at this point.
