These guys are idiots. If you see something too good to be true. Well you get the point.
No Jammer he made a good move declining the plea bargain.
From ESPN.
" Upon further review, a NJ man will get his full 82k payout on a disputed $110 sports bet. Several other gamblers who made similar bets at wildly inflated odds will also be paid in full, Fanduel said thursday."
Who said crime doesn't pay?
It's not a crime. The book is responsible for its lines. They put up a line and he bet it.
I guess it's not a crime either when the IRS mistakenly refunds you 58k instead of 580 and you wanna keep it.
You initially stated your moniker 'R40' signifies retired at 40? Sure it's not ROOKIE @ 40?
LOL. That's a bookie's mindset.
It's called gambling. He knew he had a winning hand. He won.
Nah, it's shot-taking opportunists that screamed to the media in an attempt to legitimize the theft to the novice public.
For whatever reason, FanDuel whimped out. Maybe positive PR? Dunno, but they were a prohibitive chalk to win a favorable ruling from the NJ Gaming Commission.
Yeah, he bet they would give in when it was pushed. It was very bad publicity to not pay a bet when you are just starting gambling in the state. The public sides with the bettor. They won't be doing much of that in the future.
didn't whimp out, knew they were going to lose case

the dictatorships are over. shot taking is what Americans do, that why 90 pct of them cheat on taxes, that's why 60 pct of them are getting govt pensions or assistance
Dunno where u get ur stats but one thing for sure, your beloved California leads the nation in poverty, 19%.
Adding....Gaming Commissions are normally in bed with house. I've had slam dunk cases here ruled against me.
Probably no master strategy in making the bet. Definitely was strategy in challenging them on it. It's called gamesmanship and it was well played.
You appear to be a text book educated sharp. However, you are lacking on-the-job training.
I don't care if he SHOULD have won it or not. The fact is he bet $100 and won. He was willing to throw the money away in return for the chance at the $82,000. He won. He challenged them with an advantage and he won again. The victor takes the spoils.
Gambling is two scumbags across from one another. He out scumbagged them fair and square.
Well you're half right. Why do you label a new outfit taking straight bets "scumbags"? It's not easy posting an in-progress line in less than a minute window. Pinnacle makes these same mistakes often. Voided long after the fact.
Gambling is an inherently scumbag activity. We know if the bet had lost, they would have taken his money and not refunded it. Yes, it is very difficult and you take your risks when you start posting lines. You do not necessarily get a do-over. And in this case, there were no do-overs. That is called business risk.
We are all born with a certain degree of larceny in our hearts. For you to suggest this theft was legit.........well your amount is much higher than the 'norm'. How do you know they wouldn't refund the bet if lost? If they paid out mega thousands don't you think they wudda paid out peanuts?
Put the text books down and get out and try some application. Real world and real people.
You need to get in the real world rather than this scumbag world you have lived in. This is gambling man. You put out the line and people bet it. That is the rule. If you want to offer lax bets and count on your rules or regulator pals to cover you, you may be for a surprise. This was a legal and legit bet. It was not theft. He was better than the casino. He won. They tried to plead incompetence. They lost.
That's real world gambling for high stakes in New Jersey.
The gambler had the edge all the way, he exploted it. That is how gambling works. FanDuel gets to try again.
LOL. That is the difference between gambling with scumbags and gambling in NJ. FanDuel failed to account for the risks. The gambler knew the payoff. And yes, he probably knew the plan of action. Don't go applying for any risk management jobs at FanDuel Ronbets. You will lose them another 82K by failing to account for all the risks in the state of New Jersey.
