Fish, how do you think the new rules for the NIT will affect the game, especially the 3 point line moving back? I've noticed all the totals have moved up and I'm not sure what to make of it.
I am old enough to remember when 3 point line was implemented in the college game. Change the way the game was played. Don’t think this will have the same impact but these players have practiced all their lives with a tie at the line. Now moved back. Will be interesting to see how many 3s will be 2a. Not sure if the new shot clock will offset the new line. Much better idea after tonight and if Vegas will adjust the lines after tonight. I am watching tonight to see adjustments.
I do think the 3 pt % and 3 pt attempts will drop some. It won't affect the elite 3 point shooters but the guys who are good to decent will be affected. I think you will see more shot fake and drives. I'm not sure how much the shot clock will affect things bc most teams take a quick shot off offensive rebounds unless teams are trying to slow it down.
I'm looking at it from a practice perspective. You work on spacing and getting to spots, where screens are supposed to be set, timing, etc. How does that affect teams for this first couple games. Maybe as a coach I'm overthinking this but I think the totals will be lower.
Isn't the basic gist of the idea to open up spacing, and allow greater freedom-of-movement? Therefore making scoring easier and increasing the overall offensive efficiency and total scoring. I think this is why you might see the totals going up.

I agree that this is what should happen but I wonder if it just forces deeper shots. There is no defensive 3 seconds like the NBA so rim protectors can still camp out in the paint.
Players having just a couple of days for rule adjustment; personally see less scoring
Will be fun to track
Okie St practicing at a nearby gem so court can be marked

Is that at Stillwater High School, don't think they have a practice court. May be the same place they practice when they are getting ready for a Girls game or wrestling matches. Should not have an affect on the game or do you think it would?
