The Nevada Gaming Commission is considering a proposal that would allow bettors in the other 49 states to set up and fund sports betting apps outside of Nevada.

They would not, however, be permitted to place actual wagers until they complete a one-time, in-person verification step at a corresponding, Nevada-based sports book or casino property.

Wagering on single-game events would still not be permitted outside the state of Nevada, pursuant to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992.

The 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby will be tomorrow. Most connections to contenders were pleased with their pole position drawings.

“We see a good sign,” said trainer Doug O’Neill. “We were post No. 13 when we won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.”There were no groans, only a smattering of cheers, Wednesday evening when Nyquist was read as the No. 13 of 20 horses in the post position draw for this year’s Kentucky Derby.

And so connections of the 3-1 morning line favorite were pleased with the proceedings, as were most connections to contenders in Derby 142.

An ESPN.com article takes a detailed look at Mark Davis potentially moving the Raiders to Las Vegas.

In an exclusive ESPN.com in-flight interview from Las Vegas to Oakland, where Davis returned from the meeting for the NFL draft, he expanded upon his reasons why Southern Nevada holds a certain appeal over the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area; how he has tried to make it work in Oakland; and why, as he told Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, he hopes to turn the Silver State into the Silver and Black State.

The Crime Commission sees an opportunity for organized crime involvement.

“When you’re dealing with the wild wild west of internet gaming those kind of problems can happen more readily. There’s less transparency here,” Johnson said.
