After some spotty returns in the first two weeks of the NFL season, daily fantasy’s leaders seems to be hitting their stride.
Both FanDuel and DraftKings absorbed some substantial overlay in the Weeks 1 and 2, but both filled their largest contests on Sunday.
FanDuel’s $5M NFL Sunday Million went off with 229,989 entries, while DraftKings’ NFL $7M Millionaire Maker had 400,750.
DraftKings had scaled back after getting hit with $1.53 million in total overlay for its Week 2 NFL contest, filling just 74 percent of its $10 million GPP.
FanDuel’s numbers have climbed steadily throughout the season. Its largest contest was just 73 percent filled in Week 1, but climbed to 93.6 percent (215,385 entries) in Week 2, before selling out this weekend.
According to data supplied by SuperLobby.com, the sites also had a strong weekend in secondary sports.
DraftKings took in an effective rake percentage of 8.11 for its guaranteed soccer contests and 11.17 for college football. FanDuel earned 11.43 percent on its guaranteed college football contests.
