    Yes I use bm but what league is it ? Wasn’t even clear to me it was hockey lol, v vague imo - saw a reference to Kazakhstan so I looked for kaz league but never see it listed as an option ?

    I fairly quickly picked up it was hockey, and the bm reference but couldn’t find the league available at bm.. thx tho

    Ya its annoying. sometime its like 3 hours before game. other times could be 8 hours. the 3am starts suck. at least when they play at 6 or 8am EST can grab them early morning.

    I missed this mornings game #s last night

    Kulager won 6 - 2. Id assume the total was 7.5 but Im not sure.

    I actually did not look at the total, but I did play against Astana I had -4.5 goals, so lost that by the hook.

    sorry to hear that. 4 - 0 after 1. bad beat.

    im having trouble finding when their next game is going to be but based on past couple seasons it should be a few days after the New Year.

    i believe they have 13 or 14 games left.

    1. How did you get turned on to Astana, it seems super obscure.
    2. What is your theory as to why there is EV in these bets? Is it that the bookie models don't have precedent to price hockey mismatches of this magnitude?

    I'm working on a project at the moment, the IIHF World Championship. I find international tournaments in all sports are pretty easy to grab EV (especially when it is hard to gather homogeneous data). I found a pretty cool website (in French) that has game data for all sorts of international club and nation hockey tournaments. My plan is to mash this up with professional hockey player salary data and the strength of each country's domestic hockey leagues (by looking at the result of international club tournaments). The point is that the obscurity of the project and the difficulty of scraping these particular data from the internet is what makes this angle work.

    Im not gonna act like I have some statistical Astana honeypot . I was just BS-ing on BM a couple months ago. Saw a Kazak league being offered.

    Looked up the league. Saw the standings...was like...this team cant be this bad.

    Looked into the past couple seasons and yes...they are that bad.

    Looked at simple goal differentials from last season and this...saw how out of whack their #s were against rest of league.

    Noticed their puck lines and totals were equally as eye catching (RE : rest of the league)

    Said...screw it lets see what happens if I take their Overs and MOST puck lines of the other team.

    Its been pretty profitable so far...super small sample obviously.

    no clue what is going on.

    the site I use to see the leagues games had Astana playing the 6th and 7th of Jan (didnt play)....then had 11th and 12th....now doesn't have them playing this weekend but has them scheduled for the 16th. no idea...maybe the organization just folded.
