Injuries keep plaguing the KC Royals as Tuesday they lose two more
starters to injuries, 2b Tony Graffanino and former All-Star, Mike
Sweeney. KC has now used 50 players this season.

To make matters worse, KC sp Brian Anderson has now lost 9 straight
starts, the team eleven straight in which he started. His ERA at home is
8.86 and his overall disaster rate is a very high 53%, (league average
25%).

The White Sox have won 8 out of their last ten played in KC and are third
in the AL in slugging percentage against lefties. And, you guessed it,
the Royals are last in slugging percentage against lefties at .373,
exactly 100 points lower than the White Sox.

The only thing up to date in Kansas City is yesterday the public finally
voted on building a new arena in downtown KC, something that should have
happened fifteen years ago.

Needless to say, Vegas Sports Authority has played the White Sox -135
behind lefty Schoeneweis over the Royals.

Seattle vs. Baltimore
Game Total: 9

The Mariners and Orioles pounded out 26 hits in each game of their
doubleheader on Tuesday, producing 25 runs between them. Both offenses had
been in good form heading into the series, each having scored more than
five runs per game in their previous series, against a pair of solid
pitching foes in the Angels and Yankees. The Orioles have been crushing
right handed pitchers at home all season, hitting .296 against them, more
than 50 points higher than they hit lefties. Facing a struggling Gil
Meche, in his second start off the DL, should be a perfect recipe for
Baltimore?s offense to remain in their groove. Meche is in the midst of a
truly dismal season, heading into this game with an ERA of 6.93, allowing
1.86 baserunners per inning. And Seattle?s bullpen is extremely suspect,
having blown 19 of their 38 save opportunities this season. Orioles
starter Dan Cabrera has been hit hard in each of his last three starts,
allowing 13 runs and 26 hits in just over 16 innings of work, fading as
young pitchers often do down the stretch of their first major league
season. And Baltimore?s bullpen is no more reliable than that of the
Mariners ? there should be plenty of opportunities for late runs from both
teams if this game doesn?t go Over the total early.
