I can see the new york papers are going to be inundated with ads concerning all these sharp gamblers with the 800 numbers for free picks, these guys are going to make a bundle scamming the public.
Now the new york post has an ACTION section catered to sports gambling in association with VSIN ...
nice start to their free sharp selections ....0-3-1 -4.10 units all soccer games. ...of course they dont keep a record.

here are there start the summer SHARP SELECTIONS.

Play giants over 6.5 wins
broncos over 7.5 wins
super bowl steelers 12-1
Oh they took Hamliton tigers in cfl this past sat +8 ...lost 28-14 , so thats another -1.10 unit added to the above.
edmonton eskimos to win it all 6-1
micg qb shea patterson at 18-1 to win heisman.
They say if you are WILLING TO LAY THE PRICE ...take yankees to win east -200
also...atl 7-2 and ariz 12-5.
take khris davis mlb hr title at 22-1
they also mention taking the lakers to win 18-19 championship at 15-1 with lebron ..not sure if its a play or just a mention.

So thats the sharp of the sharps plays from the VSIN as printed in the new york post .

the post and vsin expert picks are doing great ...i have them around 1-10-1 not counting some pull from the hat prop win on a game to end in 0-0 which paid 6.38....

If you were following VSIN picks in the post , you wouldve been bankrupt by now....ive emailed them numerous times asking them to be a little more transparent and post their records along with their sharp plays , they do give tidbits to the novice gambler but they shouldnt be throwing out picks on everything like its alright.

back in the day, '70's!!, the "news" used to post 1 baseball pick from a guy named benjamin lee eckstein, always thought he was pretty sharp and truly won some money but in todays world its basically back to the regression of those old days old days of stu feiner and jim feists
mike warren and kevin duffy would be ultimate advertisers/promoters in this new world !!
would love to just bet the opposites of the releases but truly don think there is any +advantage
starting with the newspapers and you tubes but you watch the cable companys are going to be next with the new 21st century versions of proline and sports desk !!!

agree , I personally know eckstein and americas line , good guy ,matter of fact great guy , he printed this whole thing about me in the new york daily news on veterans day ...nice guy ,cant wait to get out to vegas in march and have a beer with him .
News fucked him like everyone else, anyone from new york knows they just canned everyone, lee and the mighty quinn were canned a while ago.

Didn’t they have Hondo giving out losers every day for decades? Why would they care about the quality of their picks now?

I haven’t read the Post once since they got rid of their horse racing coverage. I’ve also been boycotting the Daily News for the same reason, though I did cheat and buy about 4 copies of it one day last year when The Mighty Quinn mentioned my dad in his daily piece.

I thought MQ retired, he's old enough for full SS. Eckstein may be a great guy Jets but sharp??? Take a look at the teasers he posted if you want to laugh. At least half of them crossed the 0 without getting to +3 and he was totally full of shit as to the vig.

The Mighty Quinn was let go a couple of months ago. My dad is friends with his niece, and she said that he was ready to retire anyways, so it all worked out.

When I started reading the Daily News and Post back in the pre-internet days, that's where I'd get things like entries and results every day for Saratoga.

I'm a big fan of the sport, so even thru the end, I liked their Saratoga coverage of stakes races, who was pointing towards the Travers, jockeys/trainers, etc. Even stuff like the Battle of Saratoga with Jerry Bossert and Bill Finley and company were entertaining reads. As a late teenager going up to the track, it was always neat to talk to guys like Rick Lang and Jerry Bossert when you saw them around after reading them every day.

Pred, this brings back memories. Al was great. Loved it when he'd bust Billy Packer's balls on tv telecasts. Remember hearing when Al was trying to recruit Earl Tatum away from Dale Brown @ LSU, Tatum told him Brown said that when you wake up in the cold Wisconsin mornings your eyeballs would freeze. Al got the recruit when he replied, "it's so hot in Baton Rouge the bugs never die. When u r sleeping they crawl into ur 'fro and nibble on your scalp."
The emotional scene with Al after his team won the NCAA was unforgettable.
I'm sure you had plenty of good memories.

ron...lol he referred to tatum as the "black jerry west" !!...tatum was a star from local mt vernon high(#1 in the country, no maxpreps back then), with probably at least 300 offfers from other colleges but he got him....more funny stories about that.... he hated billy... him and endberg were the real deal, way before any of the dicky v's or bermans !! of this day.....probably biased!... lol....

So the jets had their green and white scrimmage yesterday at rutgers, which i was supposed to go to, but instead had to drive my wife and mother in law to bryant park which for non new yorkers is a pain in the ass to get to by car in the middle of the city in the middle of the day.
Anyway , love reading about the games in the paper the next day, this morning , and low and behold in the new york daily news , NOT ONE FUCKING WORD ABOUT THE JETS, how is the possible , the biggest thing to happen to the jets in such a very long time, maybe the qb of the future and not ONE SINGLE WORD.
Of course the new york post had nice write-ups ....am so done with the news.

Speaking of "Jersey betting"...made the first "legal" sports bet of my life a couple of nights ago. Draftkings is offering a free play match up to $200 on your first bet, so figured I'd take advantage of it. Surprised how many lines they had on MLB where you could beat the Pinny no-vig line by playing one of the sides.

It won. I had $ in my Draftkings account, so I was able to use that and didn’t have to make a deposit. And I’ve never been to Vegas.

I took a trip to the Meadowlands to make a Travers bet (miraculously had the winner). They turned one room into a Draftkings sportsbook room with TV's tuned to sports. A far cry from Vegas but they are trying. What shocked me was the long line for the tellers - probably a dozen people at all times. It was noon on a Saturday. What were they betting on? Were they all trying to bet on the Yankees? Meanwhile, the minus 112 lines are offensive. Do all of those people on the line not have offshore books? Or has the hassle of depositing and withdrawing offshore turned people off? I use 5dimes and I wait until day of game when I can get the minus 105 lines. I don't think the average Joe realizes that the vig differential is the difference between wins and losses. I was tempted to chat with a few guys to ask them but decided that it wouldn't be a fruitful conversation.
