Today:
Netherlands/Portugal u2, 2.5
Netherlands/Portugal to draw +245
Netherlands playing a new system under Koeman. The 5-3-2 where they play a zone-defense with 5 defenders. Dutch attackers will have a hard time against the solid Portugal defense. Koeman is still searching for the right player-combinations to play in this system. With Van Persie, Robben and Sneijder no longer in the team, The Netherlands are simply devoid of world class strikers currently, even though the current system fits Memphis Depay's style of play better.
Today:
Netherlands/Portugal u2, 2.5
Netherlands/Portugal to draw +245
Two freak goals, first a bad shot by Donny van de Beek that ends up a simple chipper by Memphis and the second a defensive breakdown by Portugal on a Dutch free-kick that could have easily prevented the Van Dijk goal. A better score for this game would have been a 1-0 or a 1-1. The aforementioned 5-3-2 formation certainly helped the Dutch to stifle the Portugal attack. However, I still don't feel like it was a really good Dutch game. This one felt more like the slow and old defenders from Portugal got exposed. It was great to see Mattijs van de Ligt (18 years, Ajax) simply render Cristiano Ronaldo to an afterthought. This young guy coolly dominated him. Remember the name. He's going to a topclub soon.
Plays I got for the games of today:
Sweden PK +122
Italy/England draw +219
Colombia/ Australia O2.5
Costa Rica +201
Mexico -133
Paraguay PK, +0.5 -115 (sorry USA)
Hungary PK -114
Peru +103
Spain, La Liga:
Real Betis/ Girona U2.5 +100
Villareal +0.5 -101
Italy, Serie A:
Cagliari +141 (this is one ugly bet, and match for that matter, but Udinese with 3 goals in L9 games, while conceding 17)
Fiorentina -1 -121
Atalanta/ Inter U2/2.5 +100
#59 0-1 for -1.00
#60 3-3 for -0.11
#61 0-3 for -3.43

#69 4-0 for +4.00
#72 7-3 for +4.02
#73 5-2.5-0.5 for +2.60
Cumulative 30-26-1 for +8.73
YTD: 117.5 - 118.5 -12.5 for +6.33 units
Hope to be able to continue with this hot streak, about +17 units over last 2 weekends.
edit: ML parlays have not been counted in this record. This is my unweighted record.
Holland, Eredivisie:
Heerenveen -129
PEC Zwolle/ FC Twente O3 +101
Roda JC +1/ +1.5
(As PSV have just been crowned Eredivisie Champions on sunday, this match against Roda JC comes too early. Those guys are still drunk right now.)
AS Roma +1, +1.5 -114
AS Roma/ Liverpool U3 -114
AS Roma/ Liverpool to draw +397
Liverpool should win this game under normal circumstances. However, I think he probability of the game being a 1-0 win or a 2-1 is much higher than the books are giving.
Spain, La Liga:
Deportivo Alaves PK/ +0.5 -117 (If there's 1 match Atletico doesn't care for right now, it's the Alaves match. Arsenal on their minds. Euro League)
with Belgium -121 pending for saturday, these are the adds:
Germany -1 -107
Nigeria/ England u2/u2.5 +101
sunday june 3rd,
Croatia/ Brazil o2.5 -104
Spain/ Switzerland O2.5 -102
monday june 4th
Slovakia pk +108
tuesday 5th
Turkey +300
Side note:
I really liked the squad that Deschamps put out for France today. Even though they were playing Italy, the attacking was fluid and they have really amazing speed, finishing and smarts up front. Mbappe, Dembele and Griezmann are a world class attacking trio. This team is an upgrade over the team that played into the Final in Euro 2016.
Nigeria with a team full of players that are not used to defend with a high press, are applying the high press to an England team full of players pretty much living off the high press in one of the best leagues in the world. Result: continously a wide open field for England attackers when they evade the first flow of pressure.
WTF is the Nigeria coach thinking?
smh :wonder:
reason: Coach Koeman has adjusted the team drastically compared to the previous game, a draw vs Slovakia. He also has Virgil van Dijk and Georgino Wijnaldum from Liverpool available. On the other side of the pitch, Italy is starting a very young and relatively inexperienced team. The price on the Dutch is too high here.
Watching the Croatia - Senegal game..... looks like Croatia is not interested in participating in this World Cup. What a contrast with Portugal yesterday. Not really going to be a dark horse this way. Baffling with their talent.
