The Hilton's new book looks like it has a chance of being pretty amazing. Saw this tweeted out by Jay Kornegay the other day.

Haven't been around the Vegas oven too much this summer. Can anyone give me a comparison of RRock's new HD TVS to the Palm's latest TVs? Local sources tell me despite being an older version, the Palms are better.

Get your ass back to Vegas and lets go to the palms for lunch, haven't seen you since the T.I. only seen you then when you wanted to eat:jk: It's been a long summer but no 115/117 for 2/3 weeks in a row this year. Anyway it's dry heat :)

Use to hang also on Sunday's besides the Stardust the LVH again sitting playing the plastic ponies and sitting in the Football Seats remember them? They were uncomforable waiting for numbers and a customer I dealt to and would make 10 dime bets for him if needed. and they never seen me as his agent. Also had two close buddies that were writers and we pick spots with the ponies on occasion. The computers were a little different in those then they're now. The remodel job at the LVH (Westgate) is going to be something special.

Good point. I'd much rather have o7 with Fitzpatrick than o7.5 with Geno.

It's one of the most important things to understand before you start reading the season previews elsewhere on the web or in paper. 95% of the people are continuously hoping that this will be the career year for their starting QB. Everybody is hoping this will be the year they get to the Superbowl. Handicapping-wise, most bettors are looking at Overs for the RSW. Hope is what makes the sports books money, cold hard facts make the pro-bettors money.

A couple of public favourites I'm not high on this year are:

    - New Orleans -
Offense will be above average as usual, problem is I still don't see them yield a top10 defense which is needed to get far in the playoffs

    - New England -
The loss of Wilfork, Browner and Revis will be a big deal. Their line-backing core will be above average barring injuries, but their secondary is going to yield a whole lot of yards and points probably too. On offense they lost a key member of the offensive line, which wasn't that good to start with. It's Brady who made them look good. Shane Vereen is also gone and his strongest point was the fact that he didn't fumble. Add in the regulated air-pressure for game balls and a team that usually is very low on turnovers, is going to have a bunch extra of them.

    - Denver -
Their defense features to be top-notch. It's a whole lot of talent for Phillips to work wit, and he usually does very well the first year he's with a new team. The problem will be on offense, where Peyton lost a couple of weapons and most importantly doesn't have the same arm needed to shred defenses. Even though it's still Peyton we're talking about, it's going to be quitte a battle for them to get to 10/11 wins. I have San Diego and the Raiders outperforming last year's numbers provided they can stay healthy. Just a couple of bad bounces and Denver is an 8-8 team.

You're right. One interesting example is ESPN's division-by-division season projections. Each one is done independently by a different reporter, but if you add them all together, you end up with 281 wins and 231 losses.

The Las Vegas club boy that brings back memories Mel Exber and his brother who first went partners with Jackie Gaughan in the El Cortez and then the Union Plaza and was also a part owner of the Las Vegas Club. Mel was an old time Book Maker from Brooklyn and as for as I know he was the only casino (The LVC) that offer -2.5 runs and took whatever you wanted up to there limits and change the number feared no one.when Las Vegas was a gambling town. worked at the Nugget from late 80''s till Jan 2000 (11 Years) I moved over a few years after the Boyd's took over the Fremont and Stardust and was a crap dealer and took away just about the best Crap table for table job in town but it all worked for me.

Most of downtown guys from the shoe and a bunch of us from the Golden Nugget would go there after work about 4am in the morning on Saturday nights (For normal people Sunday morning) and bet the NFL.. John was the ticket writer and his wife I think her name was Susan use to write for the Gaming Today Newspaper that you picked up free on Tuesday in almost any Casino.

Mel Died in the early 2000's I think by now the most of the men that made this town great are dead and this is what we're left with.
I use to play Poker at the Las Vegas Club low limit with the Albuquerque Dukes the Dodgers AAA team if I remember the name right.
Always enjoy talking old Las Vegas

I worked at the shoe for a very short time in 1979 and had to leave Veagas for a couple of years to take care of some stuff back home before coming back to work at the Fremont when the Crap pit was in the back. Joe Lupo VP of table games at the Borgata was a ticket writer and so was Robert Walker who became head of all the sports books at the MGM. The best part is Lupo don't know shit about table games and Walker knew sports but shit his pants every day. Walker was fired a while ago. I think both now work for touts as expert handicappers. What a country!

I worked the Bird game for a couple months. A stack A pack and a Jack old timers will know what that means

OT did you ever deal craps to the Chagra bros? They weren't exactly the pillars of society(ElPsoTx) but toked the highest I've ever heard of. The 'Shoe pit crew bought onea the bros wife a Caddy for her birthday. Bad ass crew. They were convicted of killing a "Max John" federal judge.

Name doesn't ring a bell but in those days everybody made money. Great days. Use to deal to a guy and he would play 17k or 22k inside (Crap Game) depending on the number would hit a bet take it down and leave and the boss's went crazy but they knew. About 2 years later he would come in and bet $17 or $22 inside. Never toked a dime and had the worst hair piece and as time went on the hair piece got worst and worst and it looked like he didn't wash it for the 2 years. haha.

Then there's the cryier he would lose maybe two, three in a row (BJ) and cry real tears. He's still around and my wife see's him on occasion. When I was the Asst. shift manager at the Nuggtt and Shift Manager at T.I. and the Mirage he would come in and I would put a box of tissues on the chair he didn't care he couldn't help himself. His Hooker girlfriend came in with him once in a while and we laugh and rub our eyes like when a baby cries. I know not nice but he didn't care he just couldn't help himself.

Then there was Louie the rug he was the first guy in town to hit the pick 6 when it became legal to bet it. Horse racing was then Pari mutual so he convinces my friend Robert to cash the ticket and gave him 35k for the taxes and I think it came out to about 5k for his pocket. So my buddy has his picture taken and is on the front page of the gaming today but never pays the taxes about a year later never seen him again. Don't know how I got on this rant but I do know I should have wrote a book from day one fuuny stuff.

When Wynn sent Dennis Gomes to Hong Kong to pick up 17 million in unpaid makers and came back with nothing. He sent again and this time Gomes came back and told Wynn the man said if I come back again I won't be leaving Hong Kong. Gomes and his guys were then fired. That's when we had the Hill (What we called the Baccarat room it was up a hill right in front of the crap pit) and guys with 3,5,10 million dollar lines of credit.

Remember this was before the Mirage was even thought of. In those days the Mexicans were great they would chunk pink in the field while they were shuffling the cards in the Bacc game. Then the show closed Rodney Dangerfield was the best we make money when he was there. They also took the hill down and made that the high limit slot area. Great people there and you couldn't wait to get to work.
