Texas with QB issues for week 2 against BYU

It took one week to arrive at Texas' worst-case scenario.

Starting quarterback David Ash, who took five big hits in the season-opening win over North Texas, will miss this week's BYU game --- at least.

Backup Tyrone Swoopes, who got in at the very end of the North Texas game for two kneel-down plays, will start. Freshman Jerrod Heard will back up Swoopes.

Don't be shocked if Ash never plays another down. He had almost a full year to recover from the last one,and there was no huge hit this game. I expect he'll take the dr.s advice and not play again.

I gotta think the line flips to BYU with ash out.

    Charlie Strong

Just tossed two more players off team. Both starting offensive tackles.

Also, Texas starting center broke his leg and is out for year. Team total under?
